And its a common fact that the most badass character made by blizzard is Zeratul from starcraft.
LIES AND SLANDER.
*Hugs Raynor* >:(
Well if we count all the things Arthas has done prior to becoming the Lich King (besting Illidan in single combat, anyone? or that Faceless One?)... But I won't go there.
So, yes, Raynor.
And then there's Emperor Raynor from Blizzard DotA...

hey I'm not diminishing Raynor as a badass, but it was zeratul who killed the first cerebrate, and COME ON, the dude has seen and done more in the galaxy than anyone will ever know.
Unlike Raynor, Zeratul was also able to put grudges aside. I mean, Raynor still resents Arcturus for his betrayal, but Zeratul learned to forget the Conclave, and the rest of the kalah protoss for how they've treated his people like crap for the past couple of thousand years.
not to mention that he
was the first to put his own grudges with Kerrigan (and god knows he has MANY) aside for the greater good when it came to fight against the fallen one
that marks him as my favorite blizzard character. If anything I wish the lore of Diablo was more interesting, I played the games, and while I loved the action, I wasn't as drawn to the lore and characters as I was to the lore and characters of Starcraft and Warcraft.

Arthas is honestly my favorite Warcraft character, but Tychus is just awesome.

I was actually going to make a list of all the things Arthas has accomplished as a reason of why he was handed the Idiot Ball along with a soft (well, not really. More like frozen and edgy and not comfortable at all) seat atop the Icecrown - the Blizz have essentially turned him into a Villain Sue.
I mean, come
on
. Fighting a three-way battle, with each of the three outnumbering you, and you yourself recovering from a grievous wound, and
obliterating
them?

I still wanna know what his reasons were for wanting to destroy all life after picking up frostmourne. Like, I know it got rid of his emotions and morals, but what exactly was his reason for wanting to wipe out all life and rule the the world with nothing but undead remaining?
The fact that his soul was taken into the Lich King and he became a death knight?

Or he could have decided his original philosophy, where to kill a few to spare them all, would be better off as kill them all to spare no one. And it was more Mal'ganis plot that affected Arthas more then just losing his soul to Frostmourne, as the blade only really took giant bites out of his soul as he preformed acts of evil: Killing his father, killing Uther and so on and so forth.

For each example, I'll give you one where it's exactly like that because of the over-arching plot. I'll start with Jade Empire. You know, that game which allegedly had you choose through two paths of conflict resolution (Peace / War) but was, in reality, a mere coat of paint over KotoR's morality system of save orphanage / kick puppies and from what I've been told of BioWare games, they've not moved beyond that with only Dragon Age as an exception since they've moved away from absolute morality, instead moving towards a more faction-based choice which depends on what you decide according to the character you play (which, for the FIRST Dragon Age, was actually decided by you rather than by the game itself so I'd chalk up the game's strength to that).
Since this is off-topic, have some WoW related musings based on this topic.
aww come on :P we all know not ALL of bioware games were grey vs grey. Neverwinter was your stereotypical good vs evil story, so was Kotor, jade empire, but after mass effect, they started to tone it down, it disapeared almost entirely on dragon age 1, and as of mass effect 2 and dragon age 2 all black & white morality is trown out the window.
At worst, because of her the Horde is gray and to be entirely honest, her characterization is so out of whack I hope they mercy-kill her already so we can just move the %^&* on.
while I want this as much as you do, I doubt it will happen. They'd have to groom someone to be the new forsaken leader, and they haven't done that. I mean jesus, they've groomed Garrosh for 2 games and 2 books to replace Thrall for crying out loud.
Then again, Garrosh needed such grooming because he was replacing a beloved and admired character, whereas sylvannas is loathed enough that even characters like molder and voss would be welcomed with open arms by the fandom as long as sylvannas is GONE.
However, IF they ever decide to kill her off, THEY BETTER make that a horde-only thingie. It would be quite unfair that the alliance gets a chance to ice one of our leaders, and frankly this is more of a horde business than anything else. We were the ones who took out Varimathras, we should be the ones finishing sylvannas as well.

also while this doesn't exactly has much to do with the topic, I felt that this quote would complement the BADASS quote morec said a few pages back......
its from the show "Angel"
Wesley
: There is a line, Lilah, black and white, good and evil.
Lilah
: Funny thing about black and white. You mix it together and you get gray. And it doesn't matter how much white you try and put back in,
you're never gonna get anything but gray

dragon age 1
I feel awful when I try to be evil in that game. But you are correct when you say that there is very little White vs. Black mentality. Hell, I still have problems deciding whether to choose the Elves or the Werewolves.

and THAT is what made it FAR more interesting than other black and white games. Its pretty much a "foregone conclution" that in the end, the good guys win, the only question is how, and when.
in a gray conflict, its never quite clear who will win, or if both win, or if neither win.
Dragon Age 1 and 2 are bioware's masterpieces when it comes to grey&grey morality :P
on 1 you had the elves vs werewolves conflict (not as easy as it sounds) plus the mage vs templar conflict, the dwarven prince vs dwarven general conflict, (seems easy at first ,but then comes the epilogue and SURPRISE!) and 2 had mostly the qunari, mages and templars hating each other, and you caught in the middle unsure who to support.
While playing a black&white game (Kotor) I reach the end where I must support the jedi or the sith I found it quite easy, DUH, the jedi, and later replayed it to see how the sith ending would look like, on dragon age 2, I had to pause the game, and think HARD for almost 2 hours about which side to support on the ending, mages or templars (ended up with the mages :P meril may have had something to do with it)

Anyways,
again, anymore Gray vs Gray against White vs Black
could be moved there.
So, wonder if at some point, they'll add in an upgraded version of the Travel form for Druids, since we the players are Lone Druids, we should have access to the Stag form eventually; after all, there is already the Reindeer model for mounting, and could just tie it to one of the Elk models we see in Ashenvale and make it into the 60/100% movement speed.
Already know we'll never see the Pack form for player druids, since that thing is ape $%^& insane, and the Viper form has been corrupted by the Nightmare and not safe for mortals to use anymore either; would be nice to get a few more druid forms out there.

funny thing about the travel form is that back in beta it USED to be a stag (hence the hoof icon rather than a cheeta paw)
But, other than an updated travel form, I dont think they can add more druid forms, as just about every need they could posibly have is covered already. They've said that they are satisfied with the quality of the flying form, and they've updated cat and bear on wrath, tree on cata, so other than updating moonkin travel and acuatic forms, I dont think there's anything else that can be done for druids.
Unless they want to boggle ferals with YET ANOTHER form for melee combat that doesn't involves combo points and energy and stealth.
And as for Koiter, he was a member of blizzard's art team who died during the development of Starcraft 2, so he got a little recognition on the most memorable cutscene on starcraft 2, juts like that guy who was a part of wow's development team, and who when he died got a memorial on the barrens.
