ohh well, changing topics, I'm glad that the "missing elements" of cataclysm are slowly being added.
by missing elements, I mean of course the recurring elements that each expantion of wow MUST have (and allways had)
1: an instance related to a prison. Either to help someone escape, or to prevent someone from doing so.
Vanilla: Stockades
TBC: arcatraz, and old hillsbrad.
WOTLK: Violet Hold.
CATA: Baradin Hold.
2: A dungeon related to trolls. Could be 1 or more, could be 5man or raid.
Vanilla: Zul'gurub and Zul'farrak.
TBC: Zul'aman.
WOTLK: Gun'drak, and from a certain POV Zul'drak (not an instance, but a whole zone themed to trolls)
CATA: up to now, nothing, but it was rectified by revamping ZA and ZG. Still, I Wish a NEW one was added (and maybe they will, as we still haven't dealt with the true threat of the zandalari, both Zul and Rastakhan are out there plotting god knows what, and we will have to face them eventually)
3: A quest that involves diging or interacting with poop.
Vanilla: can't remember a specific, but when I got Loremaster I recall that there were some.
TBC: there's a horde one in hellfire to aid a goblin retrieve his keys, and one in nagrand from the earthen ring.
WOTLK: none for the horde, but 2 for the alliance, one in borean tundra and one in grizzly hills.
CATA: one in redridge, (They really took it too far on this one, u have to COVER YOURSELF WITH THE STUFF) and I think there are more.
4: 2 rival factions that opose each other (and in some cases are in direct war with each other) and we have to ally ourselves with them. These aren't related in any way to the alliance and horde (though usually one will be somewhat thematically similar to horde and one to alliance) and joining one prevents one from joining the other.
Vanilla: the 2 centaur tribes in desolace. There's no reward from being exalted with either, and none are thematically related to alliance or horde, but the game was very primitive at this point.
TBC: Scryer and Aldor (Thematically asociated with horde and alliance respectively, but neutral to both)
WOTLK: Oracles and Frenzyheart (Somewhat similar to alliance and horde respectvely)
CATA: up to this point, nada, but on 4.2 it seems we will have to choose between supporting the druids of the talon, or the shadow wardens.
5: 2 non-playable races that join the alliance and horde.
Vanilla: Ogres for the horde, and I guess High-elves for the alliance.
TBC: Mag'har orcs and Mok'nathal orcs for the horde, Broken Draenei for the alliance.
WOTLK: Taunka for the horde, Frost Dwarves for the alliance.
CATA: Dragonmaw Orcs for the horde, extra Wildhammer Clans for the alliance.
help me complete this list. What other recurring elements are present in all expantions (to qualify, said element must have been present in at least 2 expantions of WoW)

I'm not offended, really. Just makes me /sigh to see people ranting about MMOChampion.
/snicker And makes me /sigh seeing people respond to religion at times lol.
CATA: up to this point, nada, but on 4.2 it seems we will have to choose between supporting the druids of the talon, or the shadow wardens.Actually, sounds like you can do both eventually.

you can "unlock" both, but you can only quest for 1 faction each day.

Still better then the Aldor/Scryer or Oracle/Frenzyheart grind lol.

Who are the Shadow Wardens?

Who are the Shadow Wardens?
I Choose You, Druids of the Talon! (Or maybe you, Shadow Wardens!)
Within the Regrowth and Molten Front daily quest areas, players will have numerous options, both in terms of the content they unlock and what quests they might play through on a daily basis. One of the first places players will get to experience this type of "modular" gameplay is near the entrance to the Molten Front, in the forward base known as Malfurion's Breach.
In addition to your normal duties at this outpost, you'll also be asked to secure the aid of two benevolent orders stationed in Mount Hyjal: the Druids of the Talon, led by Skylord Omuron, and the Shadow Wardens, a fierce group of night elves under the guidance of Captain Saynna Stormrunner. This will be a pivotal point in your progression within the Molten Front and represents the first big unlock of new content for the area.
To secure the allegiance of the druids and wardens, you'll need to collect Marks of the World Tree to present to each order's leader. Once you've gained the appropriate amount of marks and turn them in, you'll unlock a unique set of daily quests tailored to either the Druids of the Talon or the Shadow Wardens. If you unlock the Druids of the Talon dailies, your journeys will take you into the shadow of the Furnace, an area wreathed in constant flame; the Molten Flow, a river of lava inhabited by flamewakers for as far as the eye can see; and Fireplume Peak, a floating island protected by hot-tempered fire hawks. If you opt to unlock the Shadow Warden dailies, you'll lay siege to the Forlorn Spire, wresting it from the enemy's grasp and establishing a new forward outpost. From there, you’ll be poised to attack the Widow’s Clutch, the breeding grounds for hordes of fire spiders, and Wildflame Point, a base of operations for the nefarious Druids of the Flame.
Once you've recruited both the Druids of the Talon and the Shadow Wardens, you'll have the option to choose which set of daily quests you complete each day. You'll only able to be complete one set of daily quests per reset (either the Druid of the Talon dailies or the Shadow Warden dailies), but the choice of which path you take is up to you.

So you can theoretically get exalted with both?

Yup, and no stupid Aldor/Scryer or Oracle/Frenyheart mechanic where the two reps are only worth one on the Exalted counter.

So you can theoretically get exalted with both?
actually yes and no.
from what they told us, there doesn't seem to be a way to earn reputation with the druids of the talon, or the shadow wardens (much like there's no way to earn rep with the Reliquary, or Mok'nathal)
instead, once you start questing in hyjal, you will get a special currency from the dailies (similar to the champion seals on the argent tournament) and you need to hoard a rather large amount of these to unlock the quests for the shadow wardens and druids of the talon.
these unlocks are in the form of nonrepeatable quest-chains where you aid each faction to get a foothold in the firelands.
Once you've acomplished that, you can quest for one faction or the other, but only one per day. Meaning once you've unlocked both, you can take dailies from the druids and the wardens, but if you complete even 1 quest from the wardens, all the druid quests are locked for the day, and you will not be able to complete any for the rest of the day.
both wardens and druids have their own rewards, and currency, so to buy the stuff from the wardens u gotta quest exclusively for them till u've obtained all you want from them, at that point you can quest for the druids without having to do a tedious rep grind to get them to exalted.
its genius really. All the perks of having to choose wich side you will support, no horrible rep grind once you wanna support the other. I gotta tell ya, I'm exalted with the scryers and Frenzyheart on my DK, exalted with aldor and oracles on my shammy, and I just don't have the will to become exalted with the other faction just to unlock their content on my respective toons. This system is much better because you are still limited to what you can do per faction, but you dont need to go through a painfull grind if you change your mind (which you eventually will, as once u've exausted all the rewards from one side, you may want to get the rewards from the other side)
as for the lore of it, The druids come off as pacifists that wanna heal the land and whatever, while the wardens come off as "paying evil onto evil" and executing criminals and such.

With that out of the way, I'm actually going to answer the topic. It makes sense that these factions aren't binary, because they both want the same thing. The problem I have is that the Shadow Wardens are a group of exclusive Night Elves (from what I've read) and they're going to pretty much let themselves be helped by the Horde, who are at war with the NEs.
Sense, this makes none. Unless they're a shadow ops version of the Cenarion Circle, then it does. If it is, however, why not have Trolls/Tauren/Worgen on there?
Short version: the enemy of my enemy is my friend, just stay out of my clubhouse.
Not-so-short version: They're the wardens that Maiev was leader from since after the War of the Ancients (or are at least related to that group), they'll accept help from a group that's not their own but they're not going to break thousands of years of tradition just because of it.

Huh...
I'm gonna hold off judgment of the patch and the new developments until I actually see them in action.

for the same reason that the argent crusade (made almost exclusively by alliance-races such as humans dwarves and draenei) had no problems with recieving help from the horde, and why the earthen ring (a faction made by mostly horde races, and many of its members being active members of the horde) has no problems recieving aid from the alliance.
the Wardens are the police of darnassus and night-elves in general, but the SHADOW wardens, are a black-ops version of the wardens who deal with larger treaths that are a menace to not only darnassus but the world in general.
thus, they don't shy away from having aid from non-elves, even if to join them you must be a night-elf yourself.

The Shadow Wardens, however, are directly related to Darnassus. It's not really lorelol, but it does raise a few questions. Hence why I'm wondering why we're able to go with them (I say "we" because while I've been playing more and more Alliance side lately, I still have much love for my Horde characters).
again, the WARDENS are the Darnassus police, the SHADOW WARDENS are a more black-op ish organization, one that deals with larger threats, and they wound't shy away from hiring mercenaries (Cuz that's what we do, we're not "joining them" we dont get even to be exalted with them, we just help them and they pay us)

They are still Night Elves who are hiring Orcs and Trolls; it would be like SI:7 working with the Horde.
