Hm, never noticed how transparent they were; still, even if they were 'ghosts' they would have been released at the same time as everyone else when Frostmourne was destroyed.

I'm assuming them to be ghosts, as they control a small army of ghosts and look like some themselves.
Granted I can eat a pumpkin come Hallow's End and look like a ghost, but w/e

This is something everyone cannot ignore. Why are Falric and Marwyn ghosts in Halls of Reflection when they are obviously not when Arthas murders his father? How could blizzard explain this simple mistake? This has to mean blizzard is bringing them back one day. This will be the retcon i see: " Falric and Marwyn did not die, the things you killed in Halls of Reflection were merely avatars of their true self." Blizzard must always hide a way for old content to be reused and this particular one will tie in nicely with Bolvar.
Perhaps their pysical bodies were destoryed while aiding Arthas' campaign while he was still just a death knight, or purhaps they just finally wore out from rot because they did not have the power to maintain themselves or Arthas chose not to keep them from deteriorating?
Although I think tying them in Bolvar in the future might be a possibility, as your idea makes some sense.

I know "don't feed the trolls," but I'm not going to lie. The way I read his idea about what we fought merely being avatars it seems possible. Although now that I remember they may not have been willing servants (although their dialouge, in comparrison to someone like Anub'arak, seems to hint at that) and so would have been released with Frostmourne's destruction.

They were the first killed after Arthas picked up the sword, and the first of his new Death Knights; they in turn, were responsible for some of the 'major' kills: Captain Falric killed Thassarian after all. But if those were the 'spirits' of the Captains, with Frostmourne destroyed, don't think we will ever see them again.

Not really. Or maybe they were. But the fact is that tons of souls, important ones to were released, that didn't show up in game. The only one we DID see being released was his father. There's was probably among them, unless we destroyed them.

And the huge soul storm of energy when Frostmourne is shattered was just fancy lights right heh? But with the Sword destroyed, the chance of seeing any of the souls consumed by the Blade returning is low to nil.
Groovy.
End of Forging of Durotar.

My point was there was tons of the things, and even the some of the most important ones we didn't notice leaving. Frostmourne was broken after we defeated Falric and Marwyn, so if we didn't destroy their souls there then they could easily have broken out of Frostmourne when it was borked.
On second reading it appears you made a moot point that I took the wrong way.

You take something the wrong way? No, never.

Oh, I see what you did there, you took my misreading of your completely useless to the conversation sentence and turned it into a remark about how you dislike me and I dislike you, but despite that I actually went ahead and tried to have a proper conversation.

Well, since the main thing for 'powerful' Scourge creatures seemed to involve resouling the corpses with their original essences, the fact that Frostmourne is shattered would, again, decrease the chance of either of them returning, unless they happen upon random bodies and can somehow force their essences into them...provided that they, like Arthas, his Father, Uther and the dozens of other lost souls, didn't head off to their just rewards after they were freed.
And I don't think it's possible to have a 'proper' conversation between us Face.

My point was that the issue at hand is not them 'returning,' no one's talking about that. We're talking about what happened between the Scourge campaign and WotLK that made them ghosty, or if it was just a ret-con.
I think we're both mature enough to have an argument on something as impersonal as WoW lore.
