I doubt that what most trolls have can be called racism anymore. Indeed xenophobia, but on a tribal scale. They hardly trust other trolls from the same race. It's the closest thing to 'real' racism in the Azeroth universe, seeing as most races hate other races, but that is xenophobia at work.
And do you mean the gates at Tor'Watha? Wasn't that a gigantic empty fortress? Never been said anywhere that it's empty.
Also, which two warlords that are serving under Zul'jin are you referring to? None come to mind for me.Lore from the RPG books; Zul'jin conqueror the other Warlords of the Amani when he took control of the Forest Troll tribes before the start of the Second War. When he and his forces went to war alongside the original Horde, the High Priest of Ula'Tek and the other two Warlords remained in the main portion of Zul'Aman to protect it while their leader was gone.

So, Zul'Aman. From what I've now heard, it appears Vol'jin and a group of Darkspear trolls are there and they're trying to stop the Zandalar tribe (yes, really) from taking over the place.

Well that's... interesting. Certainly a twist, but I think they can explain it adequately. The Zandalar are still trolls, after all, and I can totally see them going "Hey, look how weak the Amani are now that Zul'jin's dead... Hmm... *invade*"

Aye; Trolls were making War on Azeroth before humans were twinkles in the eyes of Vrykul and the orcs had even seen their first Draenei. I mean, really, the Trolls are the main reason why there are two separate breeds of giant sentient inscetoids running around on Azeroth. Yes, the Zandalar tribe went away from the rest to form a country for themselves, but they are still trolls at heart.

Vol'jin appears for both Horde and Alliance. Also, maybe the Zandalar at Zul'Aman are a splinter group of trolls that deserted the main Zandalar tribe.

All of the races still have their primal cores to them; Humans and Orcs, even though there are those among both sides who preach peach, will still fight to protect their people and lands. The fact is that the Trolls, even the 'weakest' tribe the Darkspear, will still make war against the other tribes....of course, the Darkspear lost their original war against the Gurubashi, which is the reason why they were exiled in the first place....

So... why would the Alliance help the Darkspears take land that doesn't belong to them from a friendly troll tribe?
Unless of course this is an attempt to help the trolls, make them sympathetic and then overthrow Garrosh and install a warcheif less inclined to take Alliance lands.

Same reason the Alliance forces assaulting Scarlet Monastery assist a Forsaken Light Slayer with wiping out the Scarlets; enemy of my enemy is my friend for that battle, then back to business as usual after the conflict.

The Zandalar are making (as far as I've heard) no aggressive moves towards the Alliance, while the Darkspear are.

As far as I know the Darkspears do not want to take over Zul'Aman, they want to prevent the Zandalari for taking over the Amani tribe. Why is the Alliance helping Vol'jin? We don't know yet but I suppose some quest somewhere will say something right now there are a lot details we don't know.

Do you really want another tribe of Trolls taking over a location where a few years previous, one of the larger threats of the Second War attempted to start a global war after forcibly taking control of the Spirits of Four of the Loa....and having these same trolls possibly having access to Ula'tek the Serpent Goddess who may or may not be the same type of creature Hakkar the Soulflayer is....if she's not the representation of the Old God of the Northeast star point?

I'll wait until they come out on live servers and do them before deciding whether it makes sense.

It's also possible that it's different for the Alliance, sort of like how in ICC the Horde had Saurfang and the Alliance had Muradin.
