Around what age do young orcs go through the cerimony in which they get their name?Age doesn't matter, they have a naming day every month/quarter/year. I don't remember how often they had it (it's possible that different clans had different intervals), but every clan had a naming day where they gave their young their names.

Mind the Troll ceremony is young; between 5-7, where the troll child is taken into the forest and left there, told to come home and the adults leave. If the child does, they are considered members of the Tribes....if they don't well....the animals ate well for a day.

It's important that we remember to keep fanon separate from canon.

Either HPG or the actual Player's Guide; and it's more for the non-Darkspear trolls...though I'm sure they might still practice it in secret as well..

Zandali#Troll Names
, and checked both of their sources, and thclosest thing I found was "Troll youth do not receive public names until they have earned a name in battle. Until then, they are referred to by generic diminutives."
Going to look in the Horde Player's guide now.
Edit: Couldn't find anything in the section on the Judgle Trolls... :\

So do we have any idea who kicked off the Cataclysm war?
I was wondering because I was doing
Invaders in Our Home
and noted that the questgiver said that the humans' presence was in violation of the treaty that the orcs had negotiated with Jaina.
If the war was already happening, I'd think the treaty would be moot.
It would make sense if Varian started the war in response to the Cenarion killings. He seemed only barely restrained afrter the Ashenvale massacre. I wouldn't be surprised if Thrall's refusal to apologize (which, incidentally, is entirely justified; orcish tradition is to never apologize or expect apologies, because it's seen as a form of submission: Thrall would have been facing riots if he had apologized), Garrosh's appointment as Warchief (who, earlier in the book, killed several Alliance sailors and sent the survivors back to Varian; Varian knows that he's violent and eager for war already), and the Cenarion killings (nevermind the fact that Tauren were killed as well; just look at Varian's reaction to the attack on the Theramore summit) caused Varian to preemptively strike.
Of course, I may be wrong. Are there any Alliance quests that indicate the Horde struck first?

I was sad when when Golden started describing Cairne as old.
Not really a big deal, but it kind of made me focus more and more on his death...Well, he is like 103 years old...
Also, anyone noticed that the Battle.net site put up a
Garrosh short story?

Isn't that like 45 in human years?I don't think so. It's not quite 103 in human years (hence him still being able to walk, let along fight), but I'd say he'd be in his 60s or 70s in human years.

I'm in the midst of reading it now, and while the author's writing seems far superior to my own, it seems I was not far from the mark, eh?
I'm at the part where Garrosh is meeting Krenna, and her assessment of the orcs' situation in Durotar seems very similar to my own idea of what Garrosh observed.
Edit: Hahaha...
In retrospect Garrosh knew that he was very lucky the duel had been interrupted, though he would rather have died than admit it. It was no matter. Thrall had come to his senses and finally issued the command to march upon Northrend, a call that Garrosh had taken to with fervor.
Edit 2: Finished. Was quite satisfied with the story. It really made me sympathize with Garrosh, which is what I had wanted. He has his faults, certainly, but he is at least an understandable character.

Ahh, that very cool.
He's like Chuck Noriss (In a non meme jokingly way)
Since chuck is 70 years old and can still kick ass.Eh, but I still vastly disagree with him politically... :P

Reading the Garrosh short story rite now.
seems intresting.
I wonder how many of these they will add? 1 per faction leader? will they add one for non-faction leaders? (Thrall aint the warchief anymore and it's actually the head of a neutral organization)
what could they posibly add for Gallywix? he's fallen into pretty much discontinuity. Not only is he loved by NOBODY, he's also nowhere to be found. He vanishes from the face of azeroth after the lost island is complete.
Edit:
The one with the eye patch—Krenna—glared at the person who addressed her, then snorted and stood down.
"I'll be on my way, then, Gorgonna." She heaved her bag over her shoulder and left without another word to either of them. Garrosh made to follow her, but Gorgonna immediately turned and grabbed his arm.
"Please stop," she said. "I am sorry about my sister. She does not mean what she says!"
"She better not," Garrosh growled. Gorgonna sighed, releasing her grasp.
"She and I spent our childhoods in the internment camps after the Second War. She is grateful that the warchief liberated us, but…" She hesitated, then added quietly, "She thinks he does not do enough."
"And you?" Garrosh demanded. Gorgonna looked down the path that Krenna had gone and did not immediately speak.
"Our parents fought in the wars," she said slowly. "They drank the blood of Mannoroth like your father did, and they were parties to its curse. They committed terrible acts in the name of the Horde. They attacked and murdered the innocent."
Garrosh bristled. His father was no murderer. "They did what they believed necessary! Do you defile the name of your own blood?"
"I honor my parents' memory, make no mistake!" she cried, "But what they believed was wrong. What all the orcs believed was wrong. We must suffer for it. The warchief understands this, as do I. My sister does not."
"That is ridiculous. You never even fought in the wars! You said you were children in the internment camps! Isn't that enough punishment? Why should you suffer any more?"
"I bear the mark all the same," she said, holding up her hands—green, as were her sister's, as were all the orcs in Orgrimmar save him. "I reap what all of them have sown. Is there not some payment owed?"
"And who would set the price?" Garrosh demanded. Her attitude angered him. Did she have no pride at all? "Who could possibly have the right to make that call?"
"I will pay what the warchief asks," she answered.
"Thrall would never be that unreasonable. We don't owe anybody anything."
Gorgonna stared at him a moment, then unexpectedly she laughed, just as bitterly as her sister had. "Of course, not," she said. "
You
don't owe anybody a thing, Mag'har. But
we
are not
you
."
AUCH xD, now that is a true slap in the face for garrosh.

I'm reading it aswell, but it seems to have som discontinuity, I mean they are on their way back from Dalaran and then arrive in Orgrimmar. Garrosh acts as if it's his first time there, which it isn't, he was there during the zombie invasion.
Also the Gorgonna and Krenna bit, wouldn't the leader of the orc forces in Northrend know some of his own commanders, and why are they not in Northrend? And shouldn't Krenna be dead?
EDIT: Alright, apparently the invasion has not yet begun, but why has Blackscar attacked Alliance forces on the Broken Front before the forces actually go there? And why were Thrall and Garrosh in Dalaran?

well, finished reading it.......... and I'm relieved that neither garrosh nor anybody else condoned Krom's cowardly attack in the broken front.
=( too bad the damage had already been done. For almost 2 years
certain people
have gorged in reminding us horde fans over and over again of that attack.
cound't that conversation happen in-game with a scripted event? was it so hard? that after we finish that REALLY shameful quest as horde, that krom gives us a report, we deliver it to warsong hold, and we see garrosh backhand krom for being such a frikking coward?
jeez. the damage has already been done, the fix added already too late. At this point nobody even cares anymore.

xD that's called "flashback", they are riding from dalaran to warsong hold and Garrosh is having a flashback of his time in orgrimmar before the invasion of northrend.
that's a split narrative and it's a way to both tell a tale, and the background of that tale.,

wow, are you really that new to wow?
when patch 3.1 was released, Brann bronzebeard finished an exploration mission on ulduar and there he discovered that the old god yogg-saron was about to escape his prison. He traveled to dalaran and let king-sue Rhonin know of what happened. Rhonin called King varian, Jaina called Warchief Thrall.
they were to discuss a posible armistice after the crap hit the fan in the wrathgate, this armistice would mean they would join forces and assault ulduar together along with the kirin tor and the explorer's leage.
but Garrosh and Varian, like 2 knuckleheads clashed in the middle of the violet citadel and had a brief fight that was interrupted (albeit too soon) by Rhonin. The meeting ended with disaster, with neiter faction lending oficial support to supress the old god. In the end all was resolved when the Explorer's leage, the kirin tor and hired alliance&horde "Adventurers" were hired to assault ulduar.
all of this happened on the trailer of the patch (IMO the best patch trailer ever)
Watch it for free here (and as for your other statement, that the invasion hadn't happened yet, it had happened, read my above post)

Okay, I guess this has already been discussed to death, but I hope I'll get my answers nevertheless.
FACT: The Scarlet Onslaught employs its very own Death Knights,
whose abilities mirror that of the Ebon Knights
.
FACT: The game lists them as
humanoids
. Does it mean that there is a possibility for one to be a Death Knight while still being alive? (I.e., having to eat, breathe, sleep, possessing emotions and an ability to procreate etc.)
