Desolace has turned out rather nice.

Desolace has turned out rather nice.
not quite. Only the central area of desolace got renewed, the rest of the place is as desolated as ever, if I had to crunch some numbers I'd say 30% of the zone is now a green paradise while the rest of the 70% is still a wasteland.

I hope that it turns out mostly nice, I have had enough of the current Desolace, so boring and monotonous.
Also, apparently all zones are going to be made bigger which should be pretty interesting, also thousand needles gets flooded. (That means no more Mirage Raceway :'( )
Starting zones for Worgen and Goblins looked pretty awesome though.
I also hope the racials for other races get upgraded seeing as Goblins and Worgen get such good ones

You obviously haven't seen the screenie of what's taking its place. Either that, or you're one hard person to please.

trust me, i've seen it, only the central area is a lush paradise, the rest of the zone is still a wasteland (specially the part where the centaur are)

ehhhhh no? , actually zones are getting "smaller" barrens was too big so it was cut into 2 zones, same goes for stranglethorn (it's now "Stranglethorn Vale, and Stranglethorn cape" the zone was split in 2, and the lower section is for higher levels)
Feralas is also a bit smaller now that the 2 islands (the one with the night elf settlement and the one with the mobs) are sunk below the sea.
stonetalon is also smaller since about 20% of the area is destroyed by a volcano, ditto for darkshore, Ashenvale also gets about 20% destroyed by lava, and azshara..... well the combination of the catalcysm and the goblin's terraforming of the zone have shrunk it considerably too.
Winterspring is also smaller since darkwishper cove is now part of the new zone "Hyjal" so winterspring is about 30% smaller too. Tanaris was also flooded in the northern part (where the steamweedle port used to be) so that zone is 40% gone too.
all in all, several zones got smaller, and that's good because they used to be TOO BIG in the past, I'd rather have a smaller but detailed zone, than a big and monotonous zone, I can tell you the level of details on each zone is formidable.
the other zones I haven't mentioned have about the same size, but no zone got larger.
also thousand needles gets flooded. (That means no more Mirage Raceway :'( )
yhea, the whole zone is flooded, the mirage raceway is now a lake, however the goblins set up a new huge boat in the area, and by the looks of it, it seems they wanna transfer the practice from land-race to sea-race :P
Starting zones for Worgen and Goblins looked pretty awesome though.
I also hope the racials for other races get upgraded seeing as Goblins and Worgen get such good ones
yhea, each new starting zone added is better than all the others, I mean, the original 6 zones (humans, dwarves+gnomes, night elves/ orcs+trolls, taurens, forsakens) were BORING, then they added the one for the draenei and blood elves and while the draenei is the best one, still both zones are WAY better than the others, then they added the scarlet enclave for the DK's and their zone is currently the best one
but the goblin and worgen zones are on a completely diferent level of badass, but... don't be sad, they are updating the older zones too, for example I can tell you the human starting zone is amazing now, and if they did that for humans I can see them doing so for the rest as well.
and about the racials, on WOTLK almost all racials got revamped and reworked, and it's gonna be the same on cataclysm, all ratials are getting reworked. (and I don't think the worgen ratials are good, only the 1% damage, the others are "meh" compared to the other races.)

Aight i have an interesting Idea. Could, in theory, night elves be paladins since they do use the light of there goddesses powers in combat. And example of paladins, or atleast warrior priests, is the sister's of elune who use elunes light in battle. Does this make sense to anyone else or am i simply crazy?

As the Lore stands now... no; closest things a Night Elf might possibly have to a Paladin is a Warden; but only in the way that the Paladins are above the regular Knights and the Wardens are above the Sentinel soldiers.

For humans/dwarves/draenei/blood elves, priests and priestesses are generally passive and do not often engage in combat. That's what makes a paladin different. A paladin is a war-priest: a priest who has taken up arms and armor to fight the forces that oppose their religion.
Night Elf priestesses already do that. They wear metal armor, ride armored mounts, and shoot flaming arrows at those who oppose the Goddess. Paladins would be redundant.

Heh, there is that too... of course, that would be a good basis for the idea of a Night Elf paladin base, like the Blood Knights, Sunwalkers and Vindicators among the BE's, Tauren and Draenei.

(Of course, neither do priests, in game...)

The use of those things could easily be taught, though. After all, before Turalyon became a Paladin, he was a Priest.

Aye, but then again, where the pictures of the Lore show the Paladins with either Swords, Greathammers, or sword/mace and board, seeing them with massive waraxes and the like are a little off too.

That's something that's perplexed me. Turalyon must have had a matter of months to be trained with the use of weapons, yet in
Arthas
it's implied that it takes years to master a fighting style and be initiated into the Silver Hand. It may be a case of being hard-pressed in
Tides of Darkness
, but still...

Yeah, but the
Clerics of Northshire
were more then just a priest group; they probably helped to train up the new recruits as fast as possible.

Heh, then they wouldn't have suffered such heavy casualties, surely. ;)

Well, against the tide of Greenskins that wipe out most of Southern Azeroth.....Of course, it does say they were unprepared for war; they had probably only dealt with bandits and rogue groups in the early days, and weren't prepared to fight an organized force like the Dark Horde.

They weren't? How exactly?
They are named as monks as well in the article.
