so long as the necromancer does it with a decent post that contributes to the discussion
unfortunately that's hardly the case, I've seen a few threads get rezzed by nothing more than people who wanted to reignite flames.
So have I, and it sucks when it happens. But, I think that for those few necros that have merit, we shouldn't stifle any discussion. And if we're locking all of the threads that are X months old, that's exactly what we're doing.
I mean, it might be a little different if threads had a life-span like on the official site... but unless they're deleted or locked they're always open here. And yes, I could get behind the deletion of some of the older things, just to clean up the board a little... but I don't think that all the discussion threads should suffer because of a few ignorant posters.

I hope we have been behaving. You know, I ran into an NPC in Mass Effect named Septimus... :P
One named Wrex, too.
ya know...... I'm a super-duper-mass effect-fan, I've played both multiple times and I'm waiting eagerly for Mass Effect 3, and while Wrex is my second favorite character (favorite is by a long shot JOKER) I can't remember a septimus....... is he a minor NPC?

Now I have to ask, what is the potential of the scourge? Arthas withheld it as much as he could during WotLK, and that was one of the few reasons he was defeated. Now what if he was faced with an inhuman enemy, completely inhuman, such as the legion or the old gods?
Old God's, weakened as they are, he might have a chance against, if he faced them one by one. The Legion would laugh in his face, before punting him across the universe. Remember, they are the Legion's failed pet project.

Except he fought off the Legion.
The Lich King is about as powerful as they are now. Even though they created him he broke away and his now incredibly powerful.

Well, I see it this way:
The Lich King is the most powerful necromancer on Azeroth.
The Legion created necromancy.
I think the Legion wins, even if we're limiting this to only necromantic magic. Pull in force size, other magics, and just sheer evil... the Legion still wins.

I seriously doubt that. The Scourge doesn't have half of a single planets population, the Legion has the entirety of several planets populations. Sheer numbers would have the Legion win, not to mention that demonically empowered destroyers are going to be more potent than a bunch of mindless zombies.
Also, The Lich King vs. Kil'jaeden is a no brainer. Kil'jaeden made everything that gives the Lich King his power. It wouldn't be a snap of his fingers, but I'm pretty sure a well placed punch would tear his stomach in half. Remember that even with Frostmourne Arthas couldn't even kill Mal'ganis, and even if he's grown, I doubt he's going to be taking on the baddie of all badasses anytime soon. Maybe if we gave him some more crazy @#$%, like Skull of Gul'dan and Eye of Sargeras, etc. but not now.
Edit: Remember, Illidan himself turned into a complete pussy when faced with KJ.

Ah didn't he kill mal'ganis as soon as he picked up frostmourne and before he went insane?
Nope, Mal'ganis actually lead the Scarlet Onslaught (in disguise, of course).

It was all part of the corruption thing. But yeah, I'm still of the option that if any actual Scourge get's near any Legion capable of using nercomancy, they are boned; the Demon can either take control of it, or snap his fingers and unravel the spell and kill the thing.

What if Arthas unleashes the plague of undeath upon the demons? They may be demons but they bleed.
Nope, in WC3 the Dreadlord's were totally immune to the plague as they fought alongside the Scourge. Not to mention I think they made it... Plus, remember the Scourge civil war? A couple of Nathrezim almost took complete control of the Scourge, I'm pretty sure KJ could stomp them.

Well, in everything shown(including in WC2 where a first gen Death Knight could make a skeletal warrior out of pretty much any body), they are immune to their own magics; the example I just put there? No skeletons pop up out of the corpses of the Demons... so that might be an oversight by Blizzard, or it might mean their own necromancy doesn't work on them.

Considering the Plague has been mutated to the point that it works on
Paladins
I think it will work on demons (just my thoughts, no real evidence that it will).

I guess it would depend on how the magic of the plague works. If it's just really powerful shadow magic, then it could work. But, if there is any trace of fel magic still in the plague, it probably wouldn't work. In fact, it might just have the opposite effect, making the demons stronger.

I'm personally psyched that the Twillight Hammer is gonna be the main Villian organization of Cataclysm.
they are after all among my favorite villian "organitzations". OJO; not Villians, but Villian group.
my number 1 favorite villian group is the scarlet crusade, and number 2 is the twillights.
OJO; I don't "love" them, I hate them, but I "love" to hate them :D (if that made any sence)
I was delighted that WOTLK gave me so many chances to fight (and utterly crush) the scarlet crusade, I absolutely loved the quest-chains of venomspite and scarlet enclave and that bit on icecrown were we finish them off.
I'm quite happy that the Twillights are so uber-present in cataclysm, but I still can't figure out how the hell did they grow in numbers and money that much over the years. Have you seen the structures they command? they kinda make the Cult of the Dammned and the Shadow Council look like n00bs.

To the money and numbers, I venture this guess:
Deathwing returned and the whole of the world has been destroyed. If a group promised me that I could live through it - which I can see the Twilight's Hammer doing in some form or another - I'd side with them.
In other words; when Deathwing returns, those guys that usually wear the "the end is near" signs laugh at you while you join the most evil organization on the planet for protection.
