The books are
good; but semi-
bland as they reduce a few characters to shallow archtypes; ie Tyrande is a damsel in distress, Malfurion is the hero boy... but the best scene isn't till book 3; then it's the ultimate moment of awesome with Deathwing.
Fix'd. There's just...nothing that keeps you reading it. Other books I have read I have not been able to put down because I've been enthralled by them, and Knaak's do nothing close to that with me.
I felt like that reading the War of the Ancient books... but not Day/Night of the Dragon and Stormrage, so go figure.

Not exactly; the Elements and the Ancestors are two different things. The Elements exist all around us; with the Spirits of Fire, Earth, Air, Water and the Wilds merging it all together to keep the world in balance. Yes, they called on the Ancestors, but that was more for advice and information, instead of calling on them for power; that's a different breed of creature called a spirit walker.
The Orcs got the Spirits back during their time on Azeroth... though, it's not really clear how; they never go into the story of how Drek'thar got his powers back after all.

Probably because Drek'thar didn't mindlessly kill all the living creatures he could. Most of the orcs did, under the bloodlust.

Yeah, but he was the first of the Frostwolves to beg for the chance to learn the Warlock magic after the Elements turned away.

Yeah, but he was the first of the Frostwolves to beg for the chance to learn the Warlock magic after the Elements turned away.
and was the first of the frostwolves to beg for forgiveness once he saw the error of his ways........
in a way he's like hellscream (the father, not the mongoloid son) in that he began and ended a trend...
in this case he began warlock magic on the frostwolf clan, and he ended warlock magic on the frostwolf clan.
I wish I knew something: in outland orcs could comunicate with their beloved dead because of k'ure but in azeroth there's no such thing as a naaru that atracts dead spirits to it, so that means in azeroth orcs can't talk to their ancestors?

In all seriousness though, there is a Naaru on Azeroth. I'm not sure if distance-decay applies to communing with ancestors, but...

I'm pretty sure you can talk to ancestors without a Naaru, because Tauren have been able to be Spiritwalkers before the Orcs found them. Unfortunately, they may do it via the Emerald Dream, which would, I guess, act as a force that attracts spirits.

So then how did the shamans lose their power if the ancestors, who were angry, aren't the ones who give them their elemental powers? Did the elements get !@#$ed too? I don't think I've ever see an element who
wasn't
angry. :x
Yes, it was the Elements turned their back on what the Orcs were doing; slaughtering and killing the Draenei and working for the Legion. We don't face the 'good' elements in game, we're fighting against the servants of the Lords.

if you wanna see "good" elementals, do the quests in the throne of elements on nagrand, or the cipher of damnation quest-chain in shadowmoon.
on both you get to interact with friendly elementals, then there's the shaman-exclusive quests to get the totems wich also put you with friendly elementals.
as addams said, the elementals we battle are those serving the elemental lords wich in turn serve the old gods.
the elementals the shaman worship are those who work only for the world itself.....

Hm, wonder if for Cata we will see the Cenarion Ring or the Earthen Circle heh; after all, both groups are going to be facing off against the Elemental Lords in addition to Deathwing, just wondering if they will combine into one to make things easier for us rep wise heh?

hell no!
I want the earthen ring to remain the earthen ring......
all these years waiting for them to show up only to then be merged with another group?
(then again paladins also waited years for the silverhand to show up, only for it to be merged with the argent dawn :P)
hey addams, I dunno bro' but that deathwing pic seemed very real to me....
not real in the sence that he will be in stormwind, but real in the sence that maybe that's his actual in-game model.......
it looked pretty realistic and deathwing-esque to me

Oh it's probably his model... but the picture itself is fake lol; he's way too small, whoever photoshopped it, did the scaling wrong, he'd fill the Valley of Heroes after all.
As for my original question; I can still see them combined, as it's the Druids and Shamans against the big threats heh.

He might've as well used magic to shrink himself so he'd fot and could say; 'I IZ IN IR HOUSE, SCARIN UR KIDZ'

Heh, I would like them to remain seperate factions, just working together and maybe a subsiduary group of both organisations. (e.g. Scryers/Aldor/SSO, Knights of the Ebon Blade/Argent Crusade/Ashen Verdict)
