HiVolt
I know it's been a while but I want to point something out.
The NPC Ormus the Penitent, is being subtly referred to us. All deathknights must talk to him to get their gear, and to get the ring ALL players must head to him. WoWhead had him under "important characters right next to darion and tirion.
When talked to normally he says: I was once a paladin, <name>. Now the Light shuns me, for my sins are too great.
I will aid my allies as best I can, but never again will I wield the powers of darkness.
He says when asked about his eyes: "A self-inflicted would, friend. I could not bear to look upon a world where I'd committed so many horrors under the Lich King's grasp.
Odd for a Deathknight to be "Penitent" I think we have a candidate to maintain the Lich Kings power without being tempted to use it otherwise.
Sorry for wall of text.
It's a good observation. The possibility is there, for sure.
Also, having a D2 named person as a major character would be sweet.

I think that this new Lich King is connected to what Blizzard has planned to the Death Knights. They did say that they wouldn't leave them alone and stagnant in the story.
Yeah... but did they have to do this lol?

Personal opinions apart, that's how it is.
Aye I know... doesn't mean I have to like it.

Although almost everything we knew until HoR went against Uther's words and even if those are quite clear, we know so little that we shouldn't go in a rampage.
And, if the Scourge was unbeatable, the Burning Legion would be 10x as unbeatable as the Scourge.
Eh, I don't know about that; I mean, the Scourge itself is merely a portion of the Legion after all(yes, I know they broke free but without the Legion they wouldn't exist at all). It just feels more like this whole thing is a set-up for another Setback thing... and we don't need a recycled plot hole used again....

Yes I know and I hate this fuss too, it feels like all our victories against the Scourge were pointless because they had "lag". It also feels stupid that the Scourge is as powerful as to win even though there's almost none of them around anymore.
Anyways, I still have hope that there's more to know than what we already do.
Exactly.. which comes to the other point: We kill the Lich King... what Scourge legion goes insane and starts killing things? In Vanilla we wiped out most of those in the Plaguelands, the Ghostland quests for the BE's break that section. We systemically destroy the Scourge forces all across Northrend, wipe out their commanders and high-ranking figures.... where is this sudden influx of Zombies going to come from? I mean, it's been almost 7 years since TFT; we know to burn all dead bodies or at least get them to places where the Scourge can't reach them anymore... so where, is the sudden new surge coming from?

And even if that's "possible" (what's impossible anyways?), how come the Scourge be indestructable, even by a new Lich King?
Well, the Lich King is technically immortal as long as the armour is intact heh. But yeah, if the Scourge is so unbeatable and indestructible... how have we been winning these last few years?

IT MUST BE THE SHRED OF ARTHAS WHICH IS TOTALLY STOPPING THE SCOURGE FROM RUNNING IN AND ABSOLUTELY WIPING EVERYBODY OUT!
Y'know, 'cuz Blizz want a back-up raiding boss plan or want the current Lich King to go out with a bang, even though other, more ancient and powerful characters never got so much as a sniff of recognition.

Sylvanas is psychopathic, not psychotic, and I intend to prove it soon.
The correct term you are looking for is psycho. No, no... I am aware of your jest, but psycho is short for psychotic. Sylvanas is a psychopath. Someone who is psychotic is truly insane, and often sees or believes in things that aren't there. A psychopathic person is a person who is absent of empathy, as Sylvanas is. A psychotic person does not scheme or plot, but a psychopathic person can.

She could technically be both... a few psycho's do plan elaborate revenge scenarios and the like... mainly on the voices in their heads telling them to.

She wouldn't have hesitated to grab Frostmourne. She wouldn't be anywhere near the threat she is now.
She's not just a "mad dog." A mad dog does not plan or plot or think rationally. Rather, she's like Hitler. She's an obsessed psychopath, but she's still quite intelligent and quite sane.

That's an
*extremely*
bold claim, I don't think the two are comparable.

Can psychopaths be considered sane?
