Why do you want the epics? Why do you want to "remain competitive"?
Is it so you can justify your $15 a month with shiny purples? I sure hope not, that's rather shallow.
Is it so you can flex your epeen in front of freshly-dinged 80's and go "Look at how long I've been playing this game"? Better not be.
Is it so you can go into Icecrown Citadel the instant it comes out along with all those friends of yours who worked hard to get their epics? Oh, but you don't have the time to do progression raiding in Icecrown anyway. You have a life, after all.
So tell me. Why?
I could not agree with you more.
I am in the stage of my life where real life obligations have made it... not impossible, but certainly impractical, to keep raiding. I got engaged, we've started looking for a house to buy, wedding planning... I just don't
want
to spend my time on a strict raid schedule.
And so, I accept that
in life we must make choices.
My choice is to spend time with the woman I'm going to marry, rather than spend time with 24 strangers (oh wait, they're "friends"). I still play WoW, but I play less than I did before and I don't log on at 6:30 every night and get raid ready so I can spend the next 4 hours as the off-off-tank (/joy) while I'd rather be doing something else.
It's my life, my time, and my choice. And I accept the consequences of my decision. If only the OP could grow up too.

Just a question.
If
you got the best gear for not playing and the lich king came and gave you frostmourne personally, what were you going to use it for if you dont have time to raid?

Tell her i send my apologies, poor lady.
Umm, how does she need any apologies?
You assume that anyone who raids or who has any type of decent gear that they have no life.
In some cases, that is true,
In most, it isn't. If you don't have the time to spend (which compared to Vanilla? Isn't that long
at all
) getting gear, either do something else (PvP) or stop wasting your 15$ a month
Why do you want the best gear when you can't even spend time using the gear for what it's used for?
You don't need all ilevel 245 for Heroics, bud.

Cronulla obviously don't have a girlfriend, he thinks that to be a good boyfriend you need to be hugging and kissing your girlfriend 24/7 and cancel your Wow account.
I feel sorry for his niece, she's probably not even allowed to use the bathroom without him being a "good person" holding her hand the whole time. And yet he admits to abuse her by not canceling his account so he could spend more time with her. Poor child.
