I work around 60 hours a week in the lab (In a PhD program), spend time with my wife and friends, play softball, fence competitively, and keep up in all my classes.
I have no problems with how gear is obtained.
Heroics are only about a half hour each, I run one or two on the evenings I can, and can upgrade my gear at least weekly, by a decent margin.
I really don't *need* better gear than I have- I don't have the time to get into a guild doing ToC hardmodes, so why do I need more than ilevel 226-232 gear?

Why should my choice of priorities be forced to have World of Warcraft at the top of the list because of how long it takes to grind gear ?
Yes its forced as well because i can't get the best gear from having WoW on a low priority basis.
Okay, so say that tomorrow you log into the game and have all your Best in Slot gear given to you.
Then what? Would you be happy? What are you going to do with the gear, if you don't have time to play because you have "priorities."
What the hell are you playing for if you just want things given to you?

The OP is full of fail whats the point of playing the game when... you dont play it?
Wow could you be anymore ignorant ? Not everyone has the time to sit here 24 hours a day raiding and hoping their gear drops, some of us have lives, families, friends, jobs, perhaps you just suck at life ?
Seems as though WoW is your biggest commitment, its my smallest.
Prioritize and get off the welfare queue dead beat
He has a perfectly good point, if you don't have time to get gear, you wont have time to use it. You seem to think you are better than (and more privileged) everyone else, because you spend your time with your friends, and
NOT
earning your gear like everyone else is.
P.S. as a side note, you spend a hell of a lot of time on the forums for not being having time to play the game. Instead of making and checking a thread, you could go and get your gear.

If you don't have time to raid what do you want the gear for?
edit- seems this sentiment has already been expressed above.

From how I see it, you want to be the top of the game without doing anything. How do people get top in sports and such? By doing.
Your also saying hardcore raiders have no life, which might be true in some cases. But they can balance their own lives with raiding, its easy enough to do believe it or not.

If I were you and I didn't have much time to play I would run 3 heroics everyday. Timed CoS, VH, AN... these heroics should take less than 2 hours to complete all 3 of them and will net you 10 emblems a day. Now if you have a little more time you can toss H ToC in for a couple peices of gear and emblems.

Im married with 4 kids under the age of 5 and i manage to stil play and remain competitive and get heroic gears while also managing to run my alt to 80, and my house is clean my wife is happy well she plays too and i work and my kids are taken care of......learn to manage time buddy
Me learn to manage my time ? You have WoW prioritising your time instead of your family.
Whats your definition of " management " exactly ? It must be warped.
Get your priorities checked bro. Poor kids.
