Just paid $4.99 for Official WoWHead Mobile database App, but it won't work when I'm not wifi connected. Why?(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##Squishalot##DELIM##You might want to check what app you just downloaded. If it's called itself 'WoWHead', it's probably not 'official' by any means.

Broad question is broad. Tell us what you want out of your apps. I have apps that make me laugh, apps that do my banking, apps that tell me train/tram/bus/ferry times, apps that keep me updated on sports matches, educational apps, and an app for an online classifieds.

Old question is old. Check the date of the op.

Oh bah, I completely missed the date ><
That being said, I'm happy to keep this topic going if people have suggestions. The topic is relatively timeless, at least, until Android shuts shop.
I've actually just picked up a Sony Tablet, and so I'm keeping an eye out for any decent apps / widgets myself anyway.
@ Donny - do you use Kaching? (if you bank with CBA, anyway?) I'm not quite game enough to use it yet, but the concept sounds good...(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##Squishalot##DELIM##

What are the best mobile games? I have Angry Birds and The Impossible Game, but does anyone have any other recommendations?

From what a lot of people have told me, don't go for the official apps like those. What makes the Android market better than iTunes is that there are emulator apps. Imagine having the old Pokemon or other Gameboy games on your phone and readily switched at your whim! Megaman, Sword of Mana, Harvest Moon, and Golden Sun!
Possibilites! Endless!

Your smartphone should already come with access to the Android market. You don't need a computer.

Just downloaded a good one today, although I'm well aware it's just a clone of something that's been done a million times, but that doesn't make it any less useful. MapMyFitness works in tandem with your phone's GPS to give you info on your walking, jogging or cycling workouts. It records your speed, pace, distance and elevation. Now to find a good heart rate monitor...

I like MagicMarker (just lets you draw pictures with your finger...but it's great for discussing patterns with clients when I can't find a piece of paper and pen.
A bubble popper game will keep a toddler entertained if you're stuck somewhere.
Who doesn't love solitaire? and Sudoku?
Zedge for ringtones and wallpapers.
Droid Armory...I don't know why but i can look at my character whenever i want :P
Flashlight..for when you're in the dark (mostly to go from the bathroom to the bedroom at night and avoid all the kid toys that somehow made it back to the floor after room cleanup time.
DeepScratchFree-another child entertainment device.
