- Homas was a brave hunter of the Bloodhoof tribe. Not a single one of the sounds or sights of the natural world could so much as make him flinch. But the voice that now filled his thoughts every waking moments of the day and all through the night was not of the natural world, and so it chilled him to the bone.
-
Your courage will fail
...
- The voice was always speaking with him. Always telling him things. Lies, he knew they were, the voice tried to make him belive that he was alone, his hunting companions, his friends since infancy, were turning against him as they spoke. Plotting his demise.
-
You are weak
...
- The thoughts dripped with lies like a snakes fang dripped with venom. Dark deeds, thousands of years in age, echoed with the words. He tried to push them out of his mind, but they resonated strong as ever. Even stronger as he looked to the south. Whatever it was, it clearly made its home in the unknown lands in that direction.
-
You will die
...
- The voice spoke once more, then went silent. It was strange, never before had it relented it futile assault against his mind. But as images filled his mind, he saw why the words had faded. The creature had been gathering its strength for a barrage of horrible images.
- The visions were of darkness, a world where nothing was still. The earth, air, water and fire they all knew to well and used for their daily life were in turmoil. Hormas knew that it clearly was a lie, but, somehow, he also knew it was a truth.
- A strange sound drew his attention to a dark part of the area. A strange creature was approaching. It raised its weapon.
- Hormas knew it might have been a friendly gesture. A salute between allies. But the voice urged him, and, for some reason, he listened. He grabbed his own spear and threw it. It impaled the dark figure, and the creature went down with a cry of terror. Hormas walked over to it, distress growing within him.
- It was his
brother
.
-
You will betray your friends
...
- Yes, the voice was right. He
had
betrayed his friends, his allies, his
family
.
-
Your friends will abandon you
...
- Yes, the voice was right once more. They would never accept him, not after this disgraceful act. But he wouldn't let him leave them. No. He would
kill
them before he would be left alone.
- One by one his allies returned, and one by one they fell. The voice urged him on, congradulating each kill. It promised more and more power, more and more wealth, as they fell. Hormas accepted it all, and then turned to the south.
- "I come, master."
...
- The sand slowed him, he couldn't move like he should have been able to. He hadn't eaten for weeks now. He was weak, tired, but he pressed on. His master, his
god
, would reward him when he reached him.
-
You will die
...
- His legs finally gave out, and he collapsed. Not even enough strength to tilt his head, and sucked in great ammounts of dust as he breathed. "Master, help me."
-
Death is close...
- Buzzing filled Hormas' ears, and the shadows of great insects covered him. He felt no fear, though, this was his masters will. Hormas was to die in his name, and be rewarded in the next life. As the stinger of the great wasp entered his body and injected its deadly venom into the hunter, the voice spoke one more.
-
You are already dead
...

And wow, I wrote this during an extremely long flight path. Not as good as the first, but still good enough, it would seem.

I need more Morec, William Morec or Nilon or any of your characters will have a place in Embracing The Shadows (Anyone's will just ask) if you write more of this amazingness if not i will eat you
This is the highlight of any writer's day. When he sees that people just
crave
his works. I'll give it some thought, and don't worry, I'll keep writing these. It's good practice.
