the dragon queen is slain.
My spider senses are tingling!
My nitpickery tells me this is wrong. :P
However, I agree that the Scourge is definitely severely weakened. I don't get where this army of 'millions' will come from - As millions would be needed to completely annihilate Azeroth.

and the frostwyrm queen is slain. Fix'd.
But yeah, there isn't some new army that was hiding in the citadel... we wipe that out on the march to the King. Blizzard really screwed the pooch for this expansion... but meh, fits the over all thing; Ulduar was more impressive then ICC in all honesty.

It was also far goddamn longer to do.
ICC for gameplay mechanics, Ulduar for lore is my choice of best instance.
Heh aye, ICC feels like Naxx 3.0.

amen, this is not how I pictured the fall of the lich king.
all that crap about there must allways be a lich king was completely unnecesary :S
undead are not limitless, so long as there are necromancers raising corpses, there will be undead, and as long as someone directs those necromancers there will be scourge.
what happens when you exterminate EVERY SINGLE one of the necromancers? no more undead are raised.
when no more undead are raised, then one the existing number of undead minions is exterminated, that's it, it's over, kaput.
back on black temple we didnt' get this crap of "there must allways be a betrayer" that's nonsence, we kill illidan, finish off the Illidari, and that's it, outland is free.
Pffp, blizzard is getting lame.

This whole thing with the 'new' lich king, or there must always be a lich king, is unnecesary.
But this is a cop out, by blizzard, so they can had this for something to use in the future, rather then put an end to it for good. When they run out of ideas, they pull bolvar and an ill written plot out of there collective backsides, and call it lore. And thats all it is.

I think he is 'alive', otherwise, why would the Lich King bother torturing him to break his will? He would have just killed him and raised him up like Saurfang the Younger. Probably the Dragonfire which damaged him like that, kept some type of protection on his body that was keeping the King from just stabbing him with Frostmourne and making another Deathbringer.
Except that he was able to raise Deathbringer Saurfang because he killed Saurfang personally, with Frostmourne. Bolvar was killed by the Forsaken blight, then finished off by dragonfire. There was no way to survive that.

Unless you were personally blessed by the Lifebinder.
Meaning we'll DEFINITELY see him again sooner than later.
Bubbles help too, he was a paladin after all heh.

Ah but we saw the gas get him before he could bubble. He was pretty much dead when the dragons incinerated anything.

Well.. did the gas really get him? I mean think of what happened to everyone else hit by the Blight; they began to melt, the poison liquefying their flesh(possibly their internal organs), but Bolvar seemed fine... he might have ended up like the Lich King and only caught a little of it, able to get the bubble up then passed out afterwards just as the first began.... then his body was picked up at some point before the dragons landed.

He started coughing and hacking. The effects were probably slowed because he was a paladin.

So did The Lich King, and he walked off; the effects slowed on him by the necromancy inside his body. So, it's possible Bolvar was still alive when whatever found him found him, and the Lich King kept him alive for some reason.... actually no not some reason; the original Death Knights, the 2nd generation same as Arthas, were those who gave up the Light and joined the Scourge willingly, could be the Lich King couldn't resist that, and wanted Bolvar to break, and admit that the Light was wrong, and only the Scourge would thrive....
