Anyone else hoping the Worgen will be the Alliance's Forsaken?

I'm really (really) hoping that the Worgen will end up being a "dark" faction to rival the Forsaken.
Think about it... The Alliance can blame the majority of Forsaken for outright evil, while the worst Alliance race can only be generally be called the stubborn humans or the xenophobic Night Elves. And even then, the humans have heroes like Lothar, Tirion, Uther, Taretha, Jaina, etc. while the Night Elves have Malfurion and Tyrande as their "good guys."
The Alliance needs a race that is a little darker, like the Forsaken. A race that, as a whole, makes no secret of their desire for genocide, or whatever. It'd help balance the factions' overall morality, as currently, all of the Alliance races are pretty much good and honorable j their goals (of course, there's some who aren't, but they're generally overshadowed by those who are), and the Horde is as well, now that the Blood Elves have redeemed themselves...
...Except for the Forsaken. With RotLK and the Wrathgate, the Forsaken and their Blight are looking pretty bad.
So if we can't make the Forsaken seems good, the Alliance should have a race that matches.
Anyone else agree?

Well I noticed in a few of the gameplay videos that the Worgen use the same base skeleton as the Forsaken.

Well seeing as the Gilenas Worgen one and all are cursed humans, they might end up matching against the Forsaken's viciousness. Greymane is a violent sort, and I can't see him rolling over (bad adams, bad! Puns are bad!) for anything, be it an upstart human king to a group of bonebags trying to conqueror his lands.

I was thinking of something more appearance wise, not lore-wise. The Worgen are more like the Alliance's Tauren since they are the only alliance race that take shape and form of an animal. As for undead goes, I heard the Worgen do have the skeleton that the Forsaken model have, meaning their animation may be the same as what the undead have too such as casting and combat animation.
As for background, the Worgen do originate from a ruinous city, and their organization are also kept isolated like the Forsaken. In a way those are some of the things that could make them seem similar to each other i would guess. Imo, still a better addition for alliance than the goblin for the horde, since it's the first time the horde get bombarded by what they once joked and made fun of the most; a gnome-like race.

if u look at the facts people aflicted with a curse will generaly act bitter, angry, and hostile to everyone.
the forsaken are aflicted wiht a curse, they will never be able to live their former lives, their corpses are rotting flesh and exposed bones, they regret such condition, and are generaly seen as the most evil of the playable races (to a point I agree) however they started a radical change after the wrathgate (this plot-arch needs to be expanded by new lore wich hopefully will be added in future patches or expantions)
One key evidence of this change is that when u get to howling fjord the quests they give are what? recover our blight, test our bligth, gather reagents for our blight, blight this blight that, blight blight blight.
u go to dragon"blight" and the same deal with the forsaken and their blight, but boy-o-boy after wrathgate, u step into grizzly hills, and =O no mention of more blight being developed, same deal on zul'drak, same deal on stormpeaks or icecrown.
on the horde base in dragonblight u can see the horde Stockpiling barrels of blight to use against the scourge, but on the rest of the horde bases in northrend u see none, not even in icecrown wich woudl be the most logical place to deploy barrels of blight on the airship.
why is this? because the forsaken no longer manufacture the blight, that's the first of (hopefully many) steps towards redemption.
and now back on topic, yhea the worgen are aflicted with a curse too, and they won't be able to live a normal life like the forsaken do, so is safe to say they will be angry, bittered, spited, and more.
given the human's known xenophobia I would expect some cruel racial slurs towards the worgen (i vagely recall 1 human NPC using a mild slur against a draenei in WOTLK; but can't recall where :S)
I do hope the worgen become the darkest race on the alliance.
and as far as coolnes goes, gnomes can't posibly compete with goblins, their dry wit, quick and clever thinking, and mild to severe insanity are what make them what they are.
Gnomes: "I gadda flying masheen!" WC2
Goblins: "I laugh in the face of danger!
AHAHAHAHAA
" WC3
fixed it, u missed the actual maniac laugh they trow after saying that.
this line is so cool I'm feeling tempted to put it as my new signature xD
(LOL; my code to post this in the forum was "enjoy" o_O)

Yes, Skreeran, I really hope so.
I think they might be worse actually, because wasn't Greymane supposed to be a pompous, shallow, selfish bastard?

I can see it. The worgan starting the worst flee epidemic azeroth has ever known, and the alliance blaming the source on the tauren.. until Brann Bronzebeard discovers the source being from the dog people.

Genn Greymane will make his debut in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. He is one of the first people Worgen players meet when he saves the player from a executioner's blade by injecting them with a serum that gives them control of themselves. As of yet, it is unknown whether Genn himself has been infected by the Worgen curse. Although a Gilnean noble was shown transforming into a Worgen in the official trailer, there was no indication as to whether it was Greymane.
The people of the Alliance remember the king of Gilneas as a proud, strong-willed, cunning, and arrogant man. He and his armies stood by the Alliance during the Second War, but in the aftermath it became clear to Genn Greymane that the Alliance needed Gilneas more than Gilneas needed the Alliance. He ordered that the Greymane Wall be closed to all outsiders, effectively sealing off his kingdom from the outside world and its conflicts. But fate, it seems, was intent on teaching the king a lesson in humility: although the wall succeeded in isolating Gilneas from the rest of the world, it also served to damn the kingdom's people forever. As the worgen curse swept the nation and early attempts at containment failed, Greymane found himself fighting a battle for his people's very humanity
Damn the orcs, damn the Alliance, and damn you! The last thing Gilneas needs is sponges from other nations drawing from our resources, Dalaran wizards meddling with our affairs, and someone else's enemies killing our soldiers! Gilneas is its own nation and it always will be. This is the last time I'll ever talk to you, Terenas, so I hope you were listening."- Greymane's last known speech, as recorded by Mystrum Runedance, presumably at one of the Alliance councils
"Greymane only complains to hear the sound of his own voice." - Varian Wrynn to Terenas Menethil II
"Pah, the fountains in Gilneas could grant ten times as many wishes as Dalaran!" - Genn's Copper Coin
DuskhavenWow.com provided a blogged transcript of a conversation between King Greymane, Royal Chemist Krennan Aranas, and Lord Godfrey, officially confirming Greymane's presence in the upcoming expansion:
Krennan Aranas says: "I'm not giving up on you, <player>. I don't have a cure for the Curse yet... but there are treatments. You'll have control again."
Lord Godfrey says: "Give it up, Krennan. It's time to put this one down. It's protocol."
King Genn Greymane says: "Tell me, Godfrey. Those that stayed in Gilneas City so that we could live. Were they following protocol?"
King Genn Greymane says: "I didn't think so. Now hand me that potion, Krennan... and double the dosage." -
Off of Greymane's page, sounds like he might have changed a bit since creating the wall and hiding alone.

I know... :(
But I'm hoping that he does end up living up to his legacy as a massive jerk, perhaps with a touch of genocidal mania.
After all, the Forsaken are nice to other Forsaken.
And it should be noted that Greymane DID support Orc genocide at the end of the second war.

If there's anything we don't need - it's another genocidal twat.
I personally think that Genn was worse than Sylvanas, by far. He cares for his own people - but that's it. He probably only joined the Alliance out of desperation.

Well it does say (Somewhere, i cant remember) that the Alliance need Gilneas, more than Gilneas needed the Alliance.

That was when he withdrew from the Alliance, at the end of the Second War.
Oh, how the tables have turned!

Sorry Skreeran, but if we are going to get bad guys, its not now...Not Bad Guys, a Dark Faction, there's a difference, and yes the Worgen may well end up being the Dark faction of the Alliance, after all, who knows what 2+ decades of being cursed has done to them.
