I'm going to bed in a second but saw the model card in the computer I might be getting is a:
512MB ATI Radeon HD 4850
Any comments on it? Good/bad decent? The processor bundled with it is:
Intel Core i7-920 processor (2.66GHz, 8MB)
So. Comments! Everyone seems to benchmark computers off Crysis now days, so what settings do you think you could run it on with these? I'll check back in the morning. :D
Can my computer run WoW?
More likely than not - yes. If you've bought your computer within the past 6 years, you should be able to run it - not amazingly well, mind you, but definitely at a comfortably playable level (other than in very crowded areas). World of Warcraft is not very system intensive, although it is possible (as with most games) to bring it to a more taxing level by turning all of your in-game video settings up. The minimum system requirements for WoW, as decided by Blizzard, are as following:
PC:
Intel Pentium® III 800MHz or AMD Athlon 800MHz Processor
512 MB RAM or more of RAM
32MB 3D graphics processor with Hardware Transform and Lighting, such as an NVIDIA® GeForce™ 2 class card or above.
DirectX® 9.0c (included) and latest video drivers
Install Size: 6 GB available HD space (The Burning Crusade requires 10 GB total)
4x CD-ROM drive
DirectX® compatible sound card
For voice chat, an SSE enabled CPU is required.

The 4850 is a nice card for the price, it should work well with that CPU. You can always upgrade in the future.

Get a Nvidia card if you're running Intel.
Stop posting unsubstantiated garbage on my forums tyvm.

Toms hardware lists that card as a best buy for its price range. I tend to agree ATI generally offers great price/performance ratio and I am ecstatic with my 4890. Don't shy away from ATI because of the massive amount of nVidia fanboys around.
the x58 chipset can run CrossFireX and SLI so just go on price/performance imo.

Read the tech support forums (unless it's fixed), there are so many more incompatibility issues with ATI's cards.
I would love a link please. Yes there were incompatibility issues with intel chipsets but the new sets (x58 and P55) have very good support for both brands. Way to talk about 2 years behind.
