I.E. TotDing the hunter, the hunter MD's the rogue. Rogue stops all attacks and the hunter lets off a few attacks at the 15% damage bonus, then the rogue right clicks the TotD buff and goes on attacking.
That's pointless.
I'm sure the rogue can do more dps on his own than the 15% being added to the hunter while he just stands there.

Put MD on the tank, Vigilance on the highest tps dps, and TotD the tank, it's simpler and more efficient.
If i understand what you were trying to do, it was putting Vigilance on the rogue and then trying to boost his threat to optimize the tanks threat through vigilance. The problem is that Vigilance only takes 10% of your threat.
Rogues does 100 tps, has vigilance, gives 10 tps to tank.
Hunter does 100 tps (let's suppose that his misdirect will be 3 attacks in 3 s resulting in 300 threat).
If you trick the hunter, the tps transfer goes to waste as the MD won't do anything with it. So you just give the hunter 6s increased damage. The hunter MD's you, you get 345 threat, and the warrior ends up with only 34.5 additional threat from you.
If everyone does his thing on the tank and the tank has vigilance on you :
- tank recieves 300 threat from the hunter
- tank recieves same threat from the rogue, no change
- tank recieves 15% additional damage and the threat that goes with it.
I think it's quite clear which actually maximizes threat on the tank.

we are forgetting righteous fury people
during our attempts at yogg, i (the rogue) even using tricks whenever it popped would pull aggro on an add somtimes, easily resulting in my death
so what we did was have a pally focus me, and id call out in vent when TOTD was up
at that point the pally would cast righteous fury on me
What the hell are you talking about?
First, righteous fury increases the threat of holy spells.
Secondly, righteous fury is a self-cast spell. A paladin can't cast righteous fury on a rogue (or anyone else).
Now, there is a Yogg tactic where a holy paladin puts up righteous fury and stand up next to the wall and heals. This makes all the adds aggro to him first and makes it easier for tanks to pick them up. But I dunno what you are talking about with casting it on a rogue.

Well, the important self casting thing aside: RF increases all other threat sources by 43%.
