After the last guild went 2 ways and I quit. I said enough of this bs.
Then last night I was asked to join what they call a casual raiding guild.
Now the thing is I have 4 80's but only play 2 now. Shaman enh/heal and a druid kitty/heal.
both are just your standard blue/purple gear and not raid ready. They said but thats ok we can help you.
But in reality am I just wasting time? Can I get geared to raid in just a few days?
I have always been afraid of not doing what is expected of me and I think that is why in some ways I am a failure at wow. In my mind I see a week or 2 from now hey wtf do you mean you are oom or Hey stupid why the F did you attack that guy
Am I too worried about all this or should I just jump in and say ok I am ready and I DO TAKE ORDERS very well.
I have NEVER rolled need in a pug unless it was really an upgrade to me, I have never bad mouthed anyone and never will. I just play to have fun...and I still want that fun.

I turned up in an OS25 5 mins after i dinged 80 and did 2.9k DPS.
Its simple if you have a few gold to buy some basics.
EDIT: I dont take well to orders either, but I know when and where its appropriate to shut up and do.
Learn about raid tactics, and you shouldnt need to clash with people.

dhampir, He said that he
does
take orders very well. And don't you think your spouting off about your 2.9k DPS after just getting 80 is a bit of a boast?
He did not mention once about how his DPS is not/will not be good enough, just that he isn't ready.
Anyway, Etrin, I think that if they are a casual raiding guild, they should be relaxed and understanding if you do make a few mistakes.

I am in a casual raiding guild, and Yeah, most people are pretty relaxed. We all like getting through content, but it's not the end all be all of this world =)
Also, once the ToC came out, I geared my Ret pally with everything he didnt have and additional upgrades running Reg 5man. Took 3 days (a couple hours a night).
Run Reg ToC for 3 days, and you will be ready for sure. Esp if you can get your guild to run you through it.
Good luck.

1) Dont be so worried about stuff man you sound like you are giving yourself a complex. Be more confident, while at the same time being open to suggestion. After all it IS only a game.
2.You still want to have that fun? Are you not having fun now? Dont let it get to you man, theres plenty of other things in the world(of warcraft) and the world, to worry about.

Meh, my reading skills fail.
My point was, it does not require gear to raid to a reasonable standard, provided you know what to do when. Hells, I was wielding level 74 daggers, and had 2 epics (goggles and an Ice Striker's Cloak)
I was around 9th or 10th, nothing special, but I was pulling my weight. Contrary to popular belief, the colour of your gear does not a raider make.

I want to thank everyone for all the great comments here.
IF they will still let me join tonight I am going to give it a try.
Do my best and if that is not enough I will gladly quit.
again thanks for your help

To be honest, if half the casual raiders had your attitude, the hardcore would have something to worry about.

Im in a casual raid guild and im very happy with it. We killed Anub´Arak 25 man.
When people does something wrong, we don´t yell 50 dkp MINUS! We just tell them that they are doing something wrong. There is no raiding attendence or gear / dps requirement, and its a great place to gear up!
