how is it a hunter's pet, be it a creature of flight incapable of swimming to a Trex with little chicken wing arms and the sleekness of a tractor trailer, is able to out-swim a druid in aquatic form even with the glyph?
not really bothered by it as it's not often the situation comes up but i am perplexed and amused by it

Could be 1 of 3 things:
T-Rex has a bigger tail and more powerful legs, allowing it to push water out of the way a lot easier than a druid. Creatures capable of flight have large, webbed (even if the web is covered with feathers) appendages which can function like quivers.
Magic.
It was coded like that.

You're discussing physics and biology in a world where you can turn people into sheep. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Carbonite's speed detection shows Glyphed Aquatic Form at Normal Run Speed +35%, slightly less than Travel form, slightly more than that stupid
turtle
which I think moves at +26%..

The original post contradicts itself well enough. No need to add anything else, really.

To balance a game you need to throw reality out the door.
