ok so here is my
gear
! I am healing raids and never having mana probs. dominating every healing chart. I guess what im saying is i have focused entirely on SP for gems and enchants. I never have mana probs and my heals hit for so hard cause of my sp that not having the ultimate haste that some shamans have (so i hear) I still do great in raids, but out of a combination of curiosity and boredom.... should i change anything? Would i actually notice a change by getting rid of some of my SP and getting some more haste?
please help thanks!

not really like i said, i do heroics by castnig earth shield and bouncing around bored only to cast a riptide every time the CD is ready... never really anything else. in raids i just spam Ch heal and throw riptides. i top charts, and dont notice any thing that im lacking. By all means i feel very beefy on my toon and not lacking in any departments. I just wanted some fellow shaman input as to what everyone else does and to whats the best route

When saying you are topping charts exactly how much HPS are we talking about here? Are Shamans really that good or did your other healers just suck ;) ?
Example: Just today, Twin Valks 25man, I had (as Druid healer) about 7800 hps. We had one Shaman healer with about 4k hps. How is that good or bad for Shamans?

You are severely misunderstanding that blue post, whatever they actually said.

I thought that might be the one you were reading.
He's not talking about the effectiveness of the stats decreasing as you get more.
It's to do with the item levels on the raiding tiers going higher than the design team anticipated when balancing the conversion ratio of ratings->percentages.
So going into WotLK the design team decided people would have about
X
crit at each raiding level - but with the changes to how raids are itemized in Ulduar and ToC people are running with considerably more than that. He's saying that were those decisions made earlier in the design process then we would have had a much more stringent ratings conversion and those percentages would be much lower than they are now.
And that we should expect to lose a lot of percentage in Cataclysm as obviously they will need to reduce the ratings conversion for the next tiers so that people don't start tier 11 with 90% crit.
