In actual event order, as in for the Warcraft universe?
War of the Ancients(1-3)
Rise of the Horde
The Last Guardian
Tides of Darkness
Beyond the Dark Portal
Day of the Dragon
Lord of the Clans
Blood and Honour
Arthas Rise of the Lich King
Cycle of Hatred
Sunwell Trilogy
Night of the Dragon
Edit: Only problem with doing it like that, is that the first part of Well of Eternity doesn't make sense: with Rhonin and Krasus showing up in Day of the Dragon, but beyond that.... that's more or less the chronological order of them.... even with the weird timeline alteration. Yes I quoted myself but that still doesn't take away the fact that all the WoW books, even Knaak's Mary-sues, are good reads. You also might want to pick up the Hardcover volumes of the Comics out there right now, the Legends are good reads as well (5 volumes), and the upcoming Dragons of Outland(three volumes, same as Sunwell Trilogy), Death Knight in December, and Stormrage in Feb. And of course the tie-in book for Cataclysm when it eventually comes out. Hope these help.

all the WoW books, even Knaak's Mary-sues, are good reads.I wouldn't entirely agree with that. (Of course, we are discussing just opinions here. Not trying to negate yours or anything.)
I was wondering what good WOW books are there.
Just to offer my own feedback on which ones I think are and aren't good:
The Last Guardian is my personal favorite of all the Warcraft books. So far I haven't read a Jeff Grubb book I don't like (his Starcraft book is great too.) And of course Lord of the Clans is an excellent book. Rise of the Horde is very good as well. Of Blood and Honor is decent, but not outstanding.
The novelizations of Tides of Darkness and Beyond the Dark Portal were bittersweet for me because they retcon so much from the original games, but overall they were decent. (ToD was a little bland at times, and I felt like it left out a lot of details that it should have included, but BtDP was good enough to make up for what ToD lacked, and I think it tied up a lot of loose ends very well.)
I thought Cycle of Hatred and the Sunwell Trilogy were particularly bad.
The latter in particular made me feel as if I had simply wasted my time reading it (and my money buying it)--it felt more like a bizzare and highly tangential side story that was desperately trying to be a major Warcraft plotline, with a disjointed narrative and (largely, not entirely) poor characterization. The comic art was... uh,
rangy
(varying from very good to very bad).
Even though I generally don't like Knaak's stuff, Day of the Dragon was pretty decent from what I remember (it's been a few years since I read it.) That's probably the only book of his that I actually like, though. War of the Ancients was... tolerable. But it's been a while since I read that one too.
I haven't read the Arthas book yet (I won it in a World of Raids contest and the damn thing still hasn't been mailed to me yet...) so I can't give any feedback on that.
Haven't read the Ashbringer comic either yet but I ordered it from Amazon, it's coming in the mail. So I guess I'll see what I think of that when it arrives.
I've read the Varian comics up to issue 10 or so... they started out good but at some point my interest in them just dropped off. Don't really know why. The spotty art quality doesn't really help much (I feel like they're just constantly look for any excuse not to draw faces...).
K, I think that's my opinion of all of them.
edit: oh, right Night of the Dragon. Uh, yeah, I read a few reviews of it and consequently just decided to not bother reading that one.

even Knaak's Mary-suesI like the Knaak books, I only add in the Mary-sue'ing cause it's fun to stir up the haters of his work. Beyond that, I enjoyed the Sunwell Trilogy (I'm a Dragon nut can't help it) and I am looking forward to Dragon's of Outland, also by Knaak but it has Tyri in it so.... yeah it works for me.
Again the Legends books are an excellent read, with multiple Warcraft author's doing stories in them. I like the comic, it's well done and a good read (to me anyways), but I am looking forward to Death Knight with all my heart and soul, I want that book so very very much,
Thassarian ftw

even Knaak's Mary-sues, are good reads.
How can a Mary-Sue fest result in a good read? D:
I recommend the Arthas book, and Rise of the Horde. I tend to, since seeing the Sues in full-swing (LOLOL LOOK AT MEH I TIMETRAVULED AND TAUGHT ILLDUN MAGIC WHILE TRUNING ON TEH WOMENZ!) In War Of The Ancients, I avoid Knaak's books like the Plague.

And that is your choice...... and really really really really really really tempted to repost the Stormrage mini-info in this page just for Patty heh.
Edit: Sorry couldn't resist:
The nightmares of King Magni Bronzebeard, Warchief Thrall, and Lady Jaina Proudmoore have given some hint as to the dread dark now befalling Azeroth. The Alliance and the Horde are faced with an enemy that knows no boundaries. It invades where they are most defenseless: their very sleep.
From the Emerald Dream to the Mortal Plane, the Nightmare's touch is spreading. No one is immune, yet there is someone who many know not only the evil's secrets, but also how to defeat it. Unfortunately, that someone is the night elf Archrdruid Malfurion Stormrage, who may have been the Nightmare's first victim.
But still there are those with hope, if only they can aid the great archdruid. Thus it is that two night elves - Tyrande Whisperwind, high priestess of the moon goddess and the beloved of Malfurion, and Broll Bearmantle, druid and student of the legendary hero - set out to discover the truth.
However they are soon to discover that the Nightmare has many layers, many aspects..... and they will need the aid of the extraordinary and the ordinary to survive long enough to rescue Malfurion.

That is so typical.
Only one person can save the world...and they were turned into Knaak's sue-pet in War of the Ancients. I liked Malfurion a lot until I read about him throwing a seed and one shotting the Burning Legion.

Broll Bearmantle, druid and studend of the legendary hero I love how Knaak enjoys moving things around to fit his "vision", don't recall.... well anywhere in the comics it said that Broll was a student of Malfurion.

It's because Malfurion, and every Sue he has invented/twisted, is his life fantasised.
Basically, it's his wet dream in a fantasy setting. He wants the mermaid lady getting turned on, to get the girl and all that jazz. The writing probably puts them off though.

Yearg, the no post thing is starting already... kinda early in the day for it though.
Again, I like his stuff, I do my best not to base any actual Lore discussion's on it....
Oh who am I kidding, we all know why I love Knaak; Deathwing fighting the Legion the Highbourne and the Old Gods to get his Trinket back, he has never been more Badarse then he is at that point.
