Yellow gem requirement

For my feral druid, I am now stacking armor pen. I just picked up Marrowstrike and the socket bonus is 4 agility, but did't know if 4 agility was worth it over socketing for 20 Armor Pen. My hit rating is 336, expertise is 19, armor pen is 471.
What do ya'll think? My meta requiremebnt was completed already with a yellow in another spot that gave me 6 agility, so that's taken care of.

I don't gem for ArP, so maybe my input isn't valid, but in my Marrowstrike, I stuck a 10 Agi/10 Crit gem because 14 Agi / 10 Crit is better than 20 Agi by my numbers (from Toskk's).

I am no expert, but I would just say ArP. What is 6 agility in the grand scheme of things? However, if you are not hitcapped, then yellow hit gem.
Never gem hit as a cat druid.
Go with 20 armpen.

Actually EJ simulations have shown that hit is only slightly inferior to agil/ArP. Meaning that if you are not hit capped yet (and only then!) a hit/ArP gem will be superior. Especially for movement based fights hit becomes quite important (if you have only a short window to hit the boss then missing that Rip will cost you a TON of dps since you have to wait like 5 seconds until you can re-apply it).
Keep in mind that ArP will be nerfed in the next patch so you might want to put hit/agil in it (or you will probably have to re-gem after the patch).

Is this the patch that is a year away, or a much more recent one? I am going to be $%^&ed if you tell me it's one in the very near future. lol If it's the one with the expansion, then it doesn't matter anyway, because our gear will be replaced.

Show me a hit/ArP gem and I will socket it
Well, hit/agil then ;) There isn't that much of a difference between ArP and agil anyway.

He has
336
(!) hit rating for crying out loud people. Why on earth should he need more hit?
Sheesh...
And yes, 3.2.2 is the ArP nerf patch, that is... very
soon

That's wonderful.
Is there any word what blizz is going to do with our ArP gems? Are they going to turn them into agility gems when the patch hits?

Your still mixing things up.
The very soon(tm) coming nerf wont remove ArP, it just lowers it magnifience. ArP wont' be removed before Cataclysm, wich is still a long time from now.
but I am assuming it won't be a stat that you gem for any longer, or the requirements for gemming for it will be much greater than what they currently are. With SotF and the fact that ArP is taking a big hit, I foresee everyone having to switch out to agility gems and ArP gems becoming junk.

ArP doesn't take such a big hit, but big enough to bring it down to agility level or even slightly lower. With the higher ArP rating required to reach the hard cap, agility will become a better option since it benefits from talents and raid buffs. We'll see. And farming a few heroics for emblems will make easy work of replacing all the gems.

yeah, i was gonna say... please shed some hit rating >.> you're more than 70 hit over the cap - that's a lot of wasted itemization!
Wish I could lol It was strictly coincedental that I ended up with 336 hit rating. My Duid is an alt and don't get to play him alot atm (been 80 three weeks), and any upgrade I find I take. It just so happened alot of the recent upgrades had hit rating. Nothing has hit gems in them, nor do I have any hit enchants. So, if I were to "Shred" (hehe) my hit, I would be back to using a couple crappy blues and lose AP too.
Amazingly I can do almost as much dps on my poorly geared druid as I can on my pally in his off spec, but he's my main, and his gear isn't THAT shabby.

Here's a thought about weapon gemming, sort of off topic, but sort of not:
Predatory Strikes
It is "known" that this talent affects the Massacre enchant, boosting the 110 AP by 20% and it is also "known" that it will not boost the AP gained from Str or Agi on your weapon -- So I think it's a pretty safe assumption that if one were to put a
Bright Dragon's Eye
into a weapon's gem slot, it would also get the 20% AP boost, right?
Apples to Apples comparison:
So if I put 20 Agi (assume kings / sotf / imotw / hotw) I get 23.79 Agi =
26.17 AP and 0.314% Crit
If I put 40 AP (Assume hotw / pred.strikes) I get
52.8 AP
It's hard to compare the two, but it's at least an interesting discussion point -- gemming AP is a mistake, but is it possible that on your weapon it isn't?
