Improved WF totem and Enhancing Totems are both mandatory talents if you're the only one providing those (improved) buffs. You're partially there to buff other people, but those talents will also offer you good personal DPS.
Enhancement generally has little need to watch their mana, and can get by on most fights using Shamanistic Rage as a defensive cooldown. So there isn't any need to take Elemental Focus (ever) or Shamanistic Focus (which is good for heroic spamming groups, but not for raids). So when you don't have mana problems you could spec something like this.

If you want SF or Imp Ghost Wolf, ditch Ancestral Knowledge and Improved Shields if you cant drop AK.

Just as an example I killed Ignis earlier in 10 man Ulduar and never dipped below 60% mana, only using Shamanistic Rage to survive slag pot. If I ditched a point in Shamanistic Focus and maybe 1 in Improved Stormstrike i'd still be fine for mana but might have to pop SR for mana. Either way all you're "losing" by not ditching regen is a little AP from AK or less cooldown on shocks if that ends up being a better DPS talent. You should be fine getting SF unless you do a lot of raiding or something.

Not to nitpick but you know, you can definately outgear the need for most regen talents. Weak as the extra AP gained from points in AK may be I could happily ditch SF focus for it. And with full tier 9 I imaging i'd start thinking about ditching points in Imp Stormstrike...
It just depends on your gear.

Like Hunterz129, I just cannot live without Improved Ghost Wolf, so I have a very similar spec to his, except I don't bother with Elemental Focus and put the point in Improved Shields. Mana really isn't a concern for us.

Alrighty! I think I am going to take SF until maybe i get sweet gear (like T9). Ummm, one more question, last one i promise, lol....
overall, personal dps and/or group/raid dps, which totem is better, magma, or flametongue?
pluses and minuses to both: magma saps A LOT of mana it seems...but apparently at 80 mana doesn't matter (maybe it would be an issue if you used magma every 20 secs)....a lot of nice extra dmg though...
flametongue: buffs the ENTIRE group..im guessing healers love it, helps out your whole group in general, and yourself...more spell dmg...plus only have to pop it once for 5 mins!
so which one's better? which one do you enh. shamans use in raids and/or heroics?
thx again all for the insights =)
If you raid with an Elemental Shaman or Demonology Lock(lol) you won't have to worry about dropping FT Totem because both of those classes have a buff that is better than FT.
But like Hunterz129 was talking about mobile fights, that is probably the only time you won't be dropping a fire totem at all. Unless you have tons of mana to drop Magma every time you have to move.

This is what my build looks like
I have put those resto talents in cuz i like when totems don't instantly sap all of yor mana.
Also, fast reincranation is sweet in dungeons (and maybe raids too).
I haven't specced in Imp Windfurt Totem cuz i feel like 4% melee haste ain't that much.
And the entire elemental tree is for more damage =)
