Next season I will probably go with Spirit offpeices, and the full wyrmhide set with maybe piece of kodo.
Crit WOULD be nice, but is wayyyyy tooo rng for it to be reliable at all. This may change if I find the crit offpieces to give more than 30%ish crit in caster form, but at this point in time, I'm not sure of anything.

Not a lot of people willingly PvP as Boomkin, so there might not be that many who has any experience on the matter.

This made me think...
So I made a profile of pieces that stack crit, but keeps reasonable survivability options:
http://www.wowhead.com/?profile=13994542
There are 3 PvE items.
t9.5 Shoulders and Chest, dropping from ToC 25 easymodes,
and a staff that drops from ToC 10 easymode
None of the PvP items require a rating over 1700.
I selected those PvE set items because I really suspect Moonfire DoT ticks critting will over time outweigh the occainional fast Starfire cast bonus.
______________
The resulting stats
(in Moonkin Form)
unbuffed:
760 Resilience
20587 HP
15381 mana
Spell Pen - 78
Hit - 0% (4% from talents and another 3% if FF is on which will cover racial miss % also)
2312 Spell Power
9% haste (1.36 sec Wrath // 1.26 sec Cyclone // 2.73 sec Starfire // 1.36 sec GCD)
27.38 % Crit
Almost the entire time you have a Moonfire up,
Idol of Lunar Fury
is giving you another 4.x% crit, so lets say
31.5% Crit
get iFF on the target and that's
34.5% Crit
I feel it's a pretty reasonable and common scenario to be able to get Moonfire and FF on your nuke target.
From talents you'd then have
38.5% chance to crit with Wrath
(and Starfire), and
44.5% chance to crit with Moonfire
.
Minus RESILIENCE, subtract 8% or 9%
So about 30% crit on most things after resilience if you keep the 2 debuffs up.
If you are lucky enough to play with a mage who is stacking up Winter's Chill you can add 5% to those numbers. 3% if the mage is arcane and you got FM buff.
______________
Seems to me like you sort of can stack a workable amount of crit in a PvP set.
If anyone can be bothered to do a version stacking spirit offset pieces I'd be interested to see it

I don't know if I could get the peels to survive with 3peices of PvE. But I think our disc priest is going to respec shadow, so I'm going back to resto. >.<

I just did a quick hack of that profile and with the setup you hint at, and in terms of offensive stats you gain about 70 spell power and lose about 7% crit. You obviously gain a fair amount of regen, especially if you talent for Intensity.

My point was to illustrate that you can almost do this, even without the PvE pieces (they were there for the powerful set bonus, not their crit). You need a little bit of synergy to pull it off (i.e. a mage).
Whether moonkins will be any good after the 3.2.2 buffs is a separate discussion.

moonkin overall is fine for pvp, its flaws are in escaping and healing while in a bind since to do both you must sacrifice your armor for either the ability to heal or to get away and that the major nukes are all casts not instant
like many other pvp casters you may want to get the black heart off the black knight on reg toc if the tank doesn't need it
2v2 generally isn't for boomkin but that's fine as 2v2 doesn't contribute to ratings, 5v5 is prob ur best bet due to your godly aoe capability, ability to shadowmeld and fade out of a pursuer's mind as they go back to one of your more durable teammates then go back to nuking from the sideline and tossing assist heals on your teammates
basically you're a big walking kick me sign in moonkin form and with all the chaos of a 5v5 you can safely employ guerrilla tactics as a moonkin allowed to stand still is quite deadly
and as the vid showed any 5v5 team of a single dps spec is uber in that the spec's strengths multiplied 5 times overshadows any and almost all weaknesses in the class
if you EVER have to fall back on moonfire spamming cast your highest rank for the dot then spam the 2nd highest rank for the DD while the superior dot continues to tick
