Yes, well... Has anyone told you that Moonkin are a contender for the least viable PvP spec?

Very true. I just want to be sure WGB knows what he's getting into. A couple of Boomies in WG is probably a boost to the whole, especially on defence.

I don't have a spec to pull outta my hat, but here are some thoughts:
Owlkin Frenzy
is good for PvP. It should proc quite a bit.
Improved Moonfire
and
Insect Swarm
are instant cast, making them very useful for PvP. Hit stealthers with it to keep them visible, and everyone else for the DoT effects. You may want to have your two highest level Moonfires on your bar. Cast the highest first, then, if you want to spam it, spam the second highest. This will keep the DoT up instead of resetting it with each cast.
It's rare, except in absolute mass PvP, to have much use for Eclipse and Gale Winds. For Eclipse to help you, it requires that you switch to Starfall, which will only occasionally be practical. Faerie Fire is a GCD you want to be using for something else, you'll rarely have the time to cast it.
Starfall is wonderful for PvP. Put you DoTs on a melee enemy, pop this, and kite them with Travel Form (until someone comes to your recue).
Force of Nature
has quite a few uses. Very vulnerable to AoE because of their low health, but they do force the enemy to act. Can give you the chance to get away. Can also be used to bother the enemy healer that you can't get to yourself. Keep'em running, or have them self heal. Plate wearers can pretty much ignore your trees, unless you have spec into
Brambles
, which will help your kiting.
Typhoon
is a must. Apart from knocking people over edges, it's one of the few things you can pop once someone is in melee with you to make them go away (for a short stint).
Basically, improve the damage of Wrath, which will likely be the main spell for you in PvP.
In Resto,
Improved Mark of the Wild
gives you added resistance, which is nice.
Furor
,
Natural Shapeshifter
and
Master Shapeshifter
are the ones to go for. You'll probably get killed often enough not to have to worry about regenerating mana. Also, three minutes CD on Innervate should keep you well fed.

Matters what your team make up is or how you want to play.

A PvP moonkin spec:
50/0/21
Unless you have the 4pc PvP set bonus, you might as well remove Starfire off of your bar.
Moonkin is crazy bad for PvP. I wouldn't touch it until they make Owlkin Frenzy a decent talent.

That spec u linkd was terrible for PvP u dnt even have points in starfall or eclipse and y would u need subtlety in PvP
that spec was actuallly pretty decent.
he only has 50 points in balance, so the choice comes down to starfall vs natures swiftness. in most cases, NS wins.
subtlety is needed because it cause the cleanser / dispeller / purger to be 30% less successful in removing the IS, MF, Lifebloom, Rejuv, Regrowth (dot). helps a lot.
eclipse is bad for pvp because of a little thing called resillience. in pve, its a necessity for dps because of a guaranteed stream of casts and numerous crit rating buffs. in pvp, you're lucky to get off a crit, and let alone get off a starfire without being kicked, counterspelled or silenced.
all that aside..
moonkin is bad for pvp.
we got an armor nerf, from 400-370% armor.
no more gear with improved armor.
celestial focus doesnt stun anymore
owlkin frenzy only procs off melee
entangling roots is as dependable as ever.
+ a lot of other things i cant remember at this current time

It's a decent PvP spec that is going for minor survival boost (NS) over DPS pressure (Starfall). Tbh though you are advised to play with a healer as moonkin so why you would need NS i'm not sure. Instant cyclones for emergency self peels i guess.
Eclipse is a very marginal PvP talent given how few crits there are and the nuke switch is not likely to be convenient when it does happen.
Subtlety is for the dispel protection. Deeply unexciting but mandatory nonetheless.

Starfire is a good friend of Cyclones.

Because 40 yard knockback with a 6 second daze is not a buff at all......
@Hymer - Gale Winds is a large dmg increase to Typhoon and it increases the range of cyclone. So far from useless for PvP.

Really? How did I miss that? They didn't even change the tooltip, might be the reason.

Thanks for pointing that out.
My experience with boom PvP is usually world PvP I can't avoid. I've seen Cyclone (along with Rain of Fire and Blizzard) be useful in WG battles, with small openings and large numbers that have to go through them (and so much smoke you can't see what you're doing anyway). I've just never felt much use for Cyclone in PvP, whatever the damage. Maybe in some of the bigger BGs it can do some good. Some AV battles might fit the ticket, at the bridge on the Alliance side, for example. Or maybe SotA, though I haven't played that so much.
As for Typhoon, the range is gold, I'll admit. It might have the disadvantage, when used at that range, of pushing the enemy out of range, screwing up your rotation.
I usually think of Typhoon as a 'get the H away from me while I shift to Travel Form and run until I'm out of combat', which means they're already too close. But I'll readily admit it deals very nice damage once you get some decent SP (a nice finisher + pull I've often thought when leveling). The OP, as I understood it, isn't lvl 80. For some reason I see him as in his 40s. As I remember Typhoon then, it doesn't do much damage. I could be very wrong, though. I have been before.

Protip: You're talking about hurricane. We are talking about CYCLONE. the actual cyclone.

Of course! :) Hurricane, typhoon, cyclone... I keep getting them mixed up, should've been a clue.

as previously stated crits aren't an all too common thing in pvp so most crit reliant talents can go out the window and generally fights are so short either you winning or dying that mana regen isn't needed beyond innervate and owlkin frenzy
moonkin form is basically a walking "kill me" sign as anyone with a lick of sense knows a moonkin allowed to stand still is dangerous so you generally want to stick to larger pvp like 5v5 where you can disappear in all the chaos
can swap glyph of roots for focus or starfall as they're all good, insect swam is very nice to have and barkskin is a must for any non feral pvp druid
use the chaos of large pvp to disappear then assist your teammates by helping heal, CCing your foes, utilizing your superior aoe capability in larger pvp scenarios, or nuking them as they try to figure out where the damage originated from then once again use the chaos to disappear and reappear elsewhere and repeat
when you are forced into head to head combat owlkin frenzy is a godsend, it'll prevent you from suffering pushback, keep your mana up, and increase your damage to the point that the enemy either dies or flees but retreating to a ranged position is always preferable
