the problem isnt the badge system. There was nothing wrong with the badge system in TBC, but you also couldnt go buy 5 pieces of T4, 5, or 6 with BoJ. The problem for me is the tier pieces. Go do the daily heroic, and nothing but the daily heroic, bam 5 pieces of T9 WITH rings and trinkets.

Bear in mind that the T9 you can get is the "wimpy" T9; there are two better sets of tier gear that you need to actually raid to get.
And Blizzard is actually being smart in that
your gear is not intended to be a reflection of your skill anymore.
This used to be the case all the way through BC. However, now your skill is reflected in your achievements, which award things like tabards, mounts, titles, and pets. Blizzard is making gear accessible to lower players so that it's tougher to fall behind in the progression. Think about if Blizzard made it so that you couldn't even try ToCr without first downing Yogg +0. The simple fact is that not a lot of people would even get to try ToCr.
I think one reason why people are thinking that bosses are easier now is that
they have a learning curve.
If you are planning on attempting the Flame Leviathan's hard mode, you can follow the learning curve by starting out doing it with no towers up, then progressively adding towers with each attempt. If you really were serious about wanting that challenge like Sunwell used to have, you should do things like attempt all the bosses in Ulduar on full hard mode, and never try the easier difficulties.

I dont care if it takes 2 years. You all missed the point. ! heroic a day gets the same gear as the serious raiding guilds.

You have to think about who you're excluding and who you're including tho. Think about it this way.
I'll use Halo as an example because everyone is familiar with it.
Some people play Halo through the different difficulties, starting with easy and moving up to heroic and legendary.
Some people play Halo and only ever play easy mode. For them, it's not the challenge but something else, be it story, or exploration.
Some people ONLY play Halo on Legendary mode, because for them, the challenge is everything.
Now, Imagine Bungie released Halo with ONLY Legendary mode. It wouldn't be the game it is today, because people wouldn't sit through and suffer through that. Instead, they give players the OPTION.
That's all Blizzard has done. Players just aren't USED to having that kind of freedom in MMOs because the status quo has always been that there is only 1 boss difficulty: Hard. To the few players that can do that, great. However, for the rest, at what point does it become worth it to pay 15 dollars a month and not have anything to do in the game?
It's a GOOD change. People are just afraid because it's new. They'll get used to it. Or they'll start voting Republican.
THIS.
The problem with the old raiding design was that the more important events lore-wise (The fall of Illidan, K'J and the redemption of the Sunwell, etc etc...) were privileges of the few top hardcore players that made all the progression from Heroics and Kara up to the pinnacle of raiding: Sunwell Plateau. The ultra-hard raid that very few could complete, and where all the important lore-action was taking place.
It's a GOOD change. People are just afraid because it's new. They'll get used to it. Or they'll start voting Republican.
This sentence resumes it all.

PvE is pretty much dead. Nothing is even hard now. Hard modes aren't as rewarding as it was to get through instances that no one else went through before. Added to this dule fact, there also exists the fact that as mentioned any scrub can easily get geared. My shammy in less then a week had 2 piece tier 8 and was outputting 4k dps in raids easily.

its not progression if you guild dosent feel like droping down 2 raid tiers to get you ready for the next lvl tier than have to drop down once again to get you in line to start progressing into the tier of content the guild is at.

sure is. if there wasnt a flow to the game we'd all start out at 80 in full epics, which imo seems to be getting closer and closer to happening. Now I know itll never happen that way, but thats practically where we're at.
