Hi all. I've gone through H ToC about 6 times now and 3 times the healer has left because they said I suck as a tank, I'm doing something wrong, etc etc. Now, the other 3 times, it's gone really smoothly. I've been healed by Druids 3x, Priests 2, and Pally 1. Now, the odd part is, neither Priest could heal me, and only 1 of the Druids had trouble. Now, I know gear and play style factor in a great deal, but there's gotta be something going on if Priests are unsuccessful at healing me. Now, I'm not blaming them, but it just makes a person go "hmmm" cuz I've been successful with other types of healers...
Here's
my DK on the wowarmory
(wowhead shows him at 71 still). I am def capped, hit capped, and it's not an aggro problem, I'm able to hold 100%.
The biggest problem area is the 1st boss fight. I know each variation has it's own difficulties, but I've had Gnome/Dwarf/Draenei 3 times that I can remember, and it's only the Priests that have trouble.
Please take a look at my build and gear. I know I don't have the best enchants or gems, but as I've said, I've tanked this and done well before. I can tank any other instance and do just fine. I just wonder if it's me, or if it's the healer trying to cover for their failures.

you may want to get a death report add on, as it will straight up tell you whats up.know some good ones? in 4 years of wow I've only ever healed or dps'd. but don't get me wrong, I know how to tank (not saying im uber or pro, i just know how to keep aggro and pick up adds) so some addon suggestions would be appreciated

Back to the Original Post, just because no one has chimed in from a healer perspective.
I've healed H ToC on my Shaman, Druid, and Priest (I tend to tank with my pally, even though he's my #2 geared healer, so haven't tried TOC healing on him).
I found healing ToC with my priest to be incredibly difficult and could never get past the first encounter. I think the problem isn't necessarily the tank type when it comes to priests. It's the fact that the first fight usually involves multiple people in your party taking large amounts of damage at the same time (when you look at Paletress and Black Knight, the damage tends to be big on 1 target at a time).
IMO, Priests have it the hardest in dealing with 3 or more targets taking tank-levels of damage, even if you know it's coming. On my shaman, I can just spam chain heal and all is fine, Paladins using Bacon have it easy because they can always keep their tank as #1 priority and still throw big heals to DPS. Druids can prep for big damage ahead of time and burn their healing cooldowns on DPS instead of the tank, who will be at the highest HPS. All it takes is for a tank to dodge or parry once and the druid HoT's have covered the spike damage while they're off saving the rogue's butt.
I'd suggest with a priest, you watch how the action goes. If the tank dies because the priest is struggling to keep DPS alive and just didn't put enough healing focus on the tank for a few seconds, then the choreography of the fight needs to change. Let the someone sit and spell interrupt on the mage while the rest take the aoe damage from the rogue npc (for example). The first fight is hardly a DPS race, and any healer should be able to outlast low dps.

Thanks all for the input. I never realized Vendetta was for killing blows. Time to respec.
And thanks GenXCub for the insight into Priest healing. I know how easy it is w/Druids cuz my main is one and so is my son's and we've never had much trouble.
