It's probably a very random event. Since they don't really follow normal threat rules etc. The only one we could "tank" if we had wanted to was the hunter pet, that one seemed to follow highest threat all the time. The others swap targets left and right so we guess there is a certain luck factor involved, if you are unlucky multiple mobs will go for some weak target and it's a fairly good bet they'll mess him up.
It's usually a fairly standard tactic to kill healer mobs first, it's annoying to keep trying to kill something that is getting healed. In this case we chose not to do that at all.
We sort of a bit half hearted CC healers/casters and rogue since they where getting dispelled more or less instantly (depending on setup, we done it a few times now - a main25, an alt25, and a few main/alt10 runs) and we didn't fancy doing any chain cc'ing. We found stuns are great, fear is good, polymorph is quite low on CC usability here since it get's dispelled to fast until certain classes are dealt with and in the end you don't need to CC anymore since it will be a many on one fight they don't stand a snowballs chance in hell.
The healers are annoying but they are completely harmless, stick some melee on them that can kick and shield slam them etc if the healing gets to be to much. If you want to mark one healer mark the Druid. We Bloodlust more or less instantly, then we go for the melee (shaman, deathknight, paladin, warrior, rogue, hunter) and quickly take them out one after another, once this is done it's a win and game over for the chumpions. Then we just in order take out the healers and then the casters. Collect badges and epics.
Reason; Melee dps will f*ck casters and healers up. Healers are just annoying but totally harmless and the ranged can hurt people but they can't really f*ck anyone up in the way melee can, easy to heal thru whatever they toss at you.
Don't think of this as a PvP event at all, it's an exercise in focus fire and burning sh*t down.

Well, I haven't done FC in 10 man but we have done it in 25 man - I imagine the strats would work for either. We had a warlock (me) keep the resto druid CCd for the entire fight (note that there will be a few hots that get past, just make sure to have a shaman/priest ready to dispel them off of your raid's current focus asap) - I was specced demo into metamorphosis for demonic charge stun and felguard intercept stun, in addition to the extra survivability via soul link and other talents. I was also wearing pvp gear and flasked for stamina, because me dying meant the druid would no longer be CCd and we would wipe. We burned down the shaman first (no tremor totem to remove warlock's fear from the druid), followed by the rogue (he was killing our casters too quickly. After that we took out the priest, followed by the warrior, followed by other physical dps classes and then the remaining ranged/casters. Took us a few hours of attempts but by our final success, we had only 2 people die during the entire fight and it went really smoothly. The fight is all about CCing smartly and having your raid work together quickly and efficiently. I imagine heroic mode will present much more of a challenge :P

As a warrior tank I stayed as a tanking spec because I liked the mobility, interrupts, and stuns available as that spec. When I did it in both 10 and 25 man I focused on locking down one of the melee (in 25 man it was the rogue, in 10 man it was the ret Paladin). Our groups always focus fired the Shaman first, then the Priest. Mortal Strike abilities are nice, so make sure your Rogues use wound poison.
It gets a TON easier once you get the first one or two mobs down. As soon as the Shaman went down for us we could start breathing a little easier. It's certainly a tough fight.

Enhancement Shaman
Rogue
Mage
Disc Priest
Holy Paladin
Boomkin
Have a rogue with
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=51679
and
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=51626
, with
Wound Poison VII
and
Mind-numbing Poison
. Have him spam FoK through the entire encounter basicly.
When
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=51679
have it's interruption removed, this is still a good idea. Wound, Crippling and Mind-numbing poisons on all targets is just plain awesome. Just remember to have some interruption (Shaman is kewl) on healers.
1. Kite Shaman
2. Burn the rogue with everything you got (Removes wound poison on your raid)
3. Kill mage (8k/1½-2sec wasn't fun)
4. Kill Priest
5. Kill Shaman
6. Kill Paladin
That's how we killed it this week. And yes, using
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=51679
is cheap. But whatever works, does indeed work ;)

it´s like PvP becouse of not dependig on aggro managment. anyone can get attacked.
And it's like PvP because all of the CC has PvP durations as well as DR.

Suggestion - if you have a frost DK let them make the pull. Death Grip your first kill to the dps and then charge the rest. Howling Blast -> Hungering Cold.
With a 1 minute CD it'll hold the whole group for 10 seconds and shouldn't hit DR unless you have 2-3 DKs doing this.
If you get them tightly packed on the DK from the pull you'll be golden (freeze them all). If not then you should still have a lot more control off the pull.
@Ranwalk.
Mass Dispell is good - unless you are facing a lock. Dispelling UA causes a 5 second silence. Kill the lock early and then this is a good tactic.

Another good opener is to have a dk ready, a moonkin spec'd into typhoon and a mage somewhere close.
We opened by death-gripping a healer out of the mix ( We had hoyl pally and holy priest ) So we decided to burn down the priest as she only had 300k hp .. and would be a pain with her disspells. Anyways, after the death grip I ( moonkin ) immediately hit typhoon knocking the other 5 'bosses' back and stunning for 3 sec. This gave enough time for the mage to sheep designated targets and for the rest of us to burn down the priest. After the priest was out of the way we went for pally ... and after that it was trivial burning down each dps 1 by 1.
Just as long as people who get assigned to a designated target call out when events happen ( Sheep breaking / immunity's etc ) all will end well :)

Only done it once, wiped a few times before we killed them and only on 10man (i dont play 25man)
We went for the healers first, kept one ccéd/interrupted and dps focus nuked one, kept healing debuffs up at all times, and tried not to aoe to break ccs.
Spread the cc around, trap one dps, when trap goes fear it, then trap another, and have a guy or two (we used our tanks for this) running around like headless chickens stunning/interrupting/attacking targets at random. They have some form of aggro-table and can be tanked from time to time (or it was just plain luck that they seemed to like attacking our tanks most of the time)

Sometimes eating a 5 second silence is worth getting rid of a billion magic debuffs at once, especially after a Psychic Scream or after the enemies pop Heroism.

To clear a bunch or remove Heroism - yes. Ranwalk was saying spam it - with a lock up that means said priest is going to be silenced 50% of the fight till the Lock is down.

The Lock casts UA very uncommonly. It happens, but it is not up 100% of the time.

I have wondered something ever since I have tried this fight,
If CC durations have PvP timers then does resilience perhaps work against the targets?
My guess is no, but if someone could say if its true or not so I dont have to worry about using my PvP bag to carry to the raid.
