I fell in love with the druid from the description as the one class that could become anything. Our relationship was consummated with rank one Wrath in the starting zone.
I knew druid was right for me once I got the hang of the Entangling Roots/Wrath combo. I was only further encouraged when I could stealth, track and sprint. I could set my hearthstone to a local tavern and use Teleport to Moonglade to get to capitals and their services quickly. I found my place in fivemans when singletarget nuking was shown to be great for druids, and even the Rogue couldn't keep up with me in boss fights. Getting Flight Form was precious, and the feeling of Swift Flight Form around Northrend and a hearthstone set to Dalaran made gathering a breeze.
My most recent happy experience was in Blue Sky Logging Grounds, when my 78 balance druid and a poor 72 warrior were stalked by an 80 retri pally. The warrior split soon enough, leaving me alone with three quests unfinished. The many stumps of trees in the area made it possible to be out of melee range, and the one time he managed to get to his airborne mount, he was Typhooned down. His few abilities that could hit me I could heal through, and then I just used my spells conservatively until he ran out of mana... Bubblehearth, and the logging grounds were mine to roam! First time I've routed an 80 retri with a moonkin.
I love my druids. I just wish moonkin was really viable for BGs.

In 5-mans, I think Barkskin + Tranquility needs to be on that list. Or at the very least Barkskin itself (<3 Barkskin). I can't count the times when I've watched my healer drop, tossed a rebirth, Barkskin / Tranquility till he's up and rolling, then Innervate him and go back to DPSing.
In 5-mans its definitely feasible to Barkskin / Rebirth / Innervate your healer even while your tanking! Or if you just want 20% damage reduction to say... temper a fusion punch, or chunk off 20% of Hammer of the Righteous damage, or... etc! When it comes to General Purpose Usefulness, I give Barskin an A+.

The moment I realized I loved my druid was when I had 10 other classes that were level 4 and my druid was level 70.

Moonkins are viable in BG. I do it all the time. One of my favorite things to do is Starfall/Typhoon/MF Spam on the relic door steps of WG Fortress. Then, with a few friends around me and things looking bad- drop tranquility. Instant win.
I fell in with my druid pretty quick, but it was after Teldrasil and bear form. I got cat form, stealth and prowl + dash, made me never want to play my rogue again. Then add in swim form and flight form for the icing on the cake.
Nothing matches a druid, imo.
