Alright, since obviously I have done something to insult you Tauren...... would you mind airing it please? As this thread had a Richard Knaak based Manga through four of the volumes of the Legends series; the Story of Trag Highmountain, and considering most of the Warcraft community considers Knaak to be the king of the Sue writers, I merely made a joke that fits in with that.
As for what I added in today; yes Dragon's of Outland is done by Knaak as well; but luckly Tyri and Jorad are not Sues, as Krasus Rhonin and other's are. Death Knight looked amazing in the preview I saw for it. The Mage manga coming out is also done by Knaak..... so I'll hold my breath till then. But the Shaman thing sounds very interesting, and if it's done like "A Warrior Made", it should be expectional.
I do like who you seem to be focused on me for your Sue rant, yet Patty, Skreeran and other's make just as many jokes.
So again, if I've done something to insult you (and for the life of me, I can't think of a thing), I would prefer you tell me instead of trying to rip all my posts.
Anyway, I am looking forward to this one. when I can order a copy of it here the u.k. The story of Thrall's nightmare is one I'd like to read, since lord of the clans is and will always be my favourite story. His nightmare was the worst, say what you will about Knaak, but he did that one very well.

I just got this thing with people using the term of sueiness so often when it isn't always needed. So when I saw your several posts on it recently I just drew to the conclusion you were labeling all characters as sues. Given a conversaion I had on trade chat a few nights ago with some people on this subject, refering to Thrall, Tirion, Malfurion and even Saurfang as a sue.. it just got me a bit chaffed on people generalizing so much.
Its me who should apologize though, your making a point of how you feel characters in warcraft are to such extent a sue, and thats what you feel of it.
I'm just not sure why Trags counted as this though...

I'm just not sure why Trags counted as this though...Trag was merely me making a joke; the idea that a character of Knaak actually lost a fight, even if it was against the Lich King.
But, I know the characters are well written, and they're power works, even Rhonin's power's works, for all that people have such hatred for the Red-Haired. But I'll admit, I would rather see more stories like "Warrior Made" as opposed to things like Trag's storyline.

Well I'm someone who admires characters with flaws in them like anyone else, it makes them more believeable.. sort of like the difference between batman/wolverine to superman/captain america, they seem more earth bound.
Trag struck me as having some major flaws, he couldn't maintain (spoilers) his hold when faced against the lich king, was cast out by his people, and only finding acceptance with a race of people he never knew before, he had more shards of grey to him then most.

His story honestly should have ended in Sunwell Trilogy, but still, the 4 parter was well done, just not something I enjoyed all that much. I mean as each new volume came out, I was looking forward to the other stories as opposed to the next part of Trag's continuing tale.

I know it's a nerco, but meh, rather then making a new Topic, I'm just going to post my Death Knight Review here heh.
Storyline: It was quite good, shows where our favorite Alliance side Death Knight had come from, a farming family, with his father being a 'hero' in the Second War, and receiving as his mother put it 'A heroes grave'. The back and forth between Thassarian and his sister was excellent, I enjoyed it, especially when they were teasing each other about neither having suitors.
We get to see some of his life as a soldier and find out that while he's excellent at foot work and fighting, he lacks the necessary skills to respond quickly in a crisis, which means he's better off just following orders. From what it shows, he wasn't part of the Lordareon war vs the Cult of the Damned, but he was added into the army that went north, and we see the point where Arthas turns on the mercenaries from a different point of view; that of the loyal soldiers seemingly stranded in the north. We also learn how Thassarian dies; killed by Falric in the chamber were Frostmourne had been, after the young man went looking for Arthas and the 2nd.
The scene shifts to the fall of Lordaeron, and we finally see what happened after Arthas killed his father.... and it has been proven it was more then just Arthas, Falric and Marwyn; you see Thassarian and an army of Scourge ripping the city apart. At one point, they capture his mother, and we watch as the now Death Knight lieutenant kills her, stating he does as his commanding officer orders like all good soldiers.
After this, it changes to the assault on Silvermoon and we meet with Koltira, who is forced to watch as his brother and a young woman die to the Scourge, Thassarian recovering one of the gems then needed to take down the shield. Koltira follows Thassarian and attempts to reason with him, to reach out to the spark within him, but the Death Knight ignores that and let's him live. They later meet again, and Thassarian slays the High Elf in Arthas name, and he is revived as well.
From there, we see the two training at Icecrown, then they, and others are sent to destroy Light's Hope, and we see the event from his eyes, and during the final battle, his father's spirit appears to help Thassarian break free. After the fight, Thassarian is sent to Stormwind, to become the first Alliance Death Knight, and it's quite interesting to watch the 'hero' make the walk we have all done, as the people of Stormwind pelt us with trash and spit on us. When he reaches Wyrnn, it's the exact same speech as the quest, and was well shown.
After this point, it goes on to expand on the Alliance side Borean Tundra quest, and makes a small reference to Koltira's quest line as well. The final fight with the San'layn atop the ziggurat was well penned and drawn, and I enjoyed it immensely.
Two things here though:
1. The book proves that those who are saying "Oh well, more Lordaeron people then we realized escaped" are wrong; it wasn't just Arthas and his two lieutenants, it was a full on army of Scourge forces that just tore the city apart.
2. The Lordaeron Harbour (which looks almost identical to Stormwind) is shown.... which means this order thing of Garrosh's, sending the Forsaken to attack Gilneas for a port is merely Blizzard attempting to shoe-horn a reason for an attack in.
So, that's all for now, and more then likely I'll necro this thread again in June when Dragons of Outland comes out.... and the few preview things I saw at the end of Death Knight is making me drool, it looks like it's going to be a beautiful work of art.

Heh, I can try scanning some later. The Wrynn one looks more or less like the comic one, just more... pointed in the face lol.

I hope they
got
rid of the randomly
bolded

emphasis
even
though
the emphasised words did not
need
emphasising.

That's his death Knight armour, after Thassarian stabbed him through the chest on the previous page Dark... he's dead. And yes, that is the year I was born.
