Night Elf mages are Highborne.
Tauren Priests/Paladins are supposedly followers of An'she, the Sun.

Myself, I want to know how Worgan's can be druids, and Goblins can be shamans, espically with the way goblins are; cunning inward focused people, but Blizz will just bend the rules and say "Impressed with Thrall saving their arses from the Bloodsail people, the goblins follow his way of thinking."

I figure some of them just had Nobundo-esque epiphanies.

I'd still like them to set it up so that Wildhammer dwarves are the actual Shaman dwarves and they do a phased zone for them, with the final quest sending you to Ironforge to pledge your support to help fix the world.

I'm curious to know if Night Elfs get their holy power from Elune, then why can't she bless them and make Paladins? The Tauren recently got Paladins and Priests so just a thought I decided to throw out here and have it picked apart :) lol

Is there anything in the current lore that says certain races
can't
be shaman (or any class for that matter), or is it just a game-play mechanic? I think that's an issue with a lot of race/class combos, honestly.
As as side note, there are also shaman among the Dark Iron Dwarves.
Honestly, no there isn't. Most of it is suppose to come down to the people themselves. I mean, the Wildhammer Dwarves shamanism makes sense as they live in close contact with nature and their gryphons and the rest.
But a human shaman wouldn't make as much as sense as, let's be honest, most humans are selfish and prefer to change the world instead of leaving it normally.
