Pardon my ignorance, but I've never done yogg, how would hawk eye help in that fight? I've done vezax without any points into it, and I didn't seem to have any problems.
Both Vezax and Yogg aren't affected by Imp Tracking, so it's useless.
On Vezax, if the shadow crash pool hits pretty far, you have more chance of still having range to hit from it and, if you are on the killing those mana batteries job, more range = less moving = less time healers waiting for you to kill.
On Yogg, higher range allows you to DPS safer on P1, so that you don't have to get that close to clouds. On P2, if you are outside, more range, less moving, more damage, if you are Inside doesn't really change anything. P3 doesn't really matter the range, unless you are really bad at turning and have to visit Freya's Insanity healing pool often.
