Hello wowhead community!
Now, I come to the mage forums now to ask for your help. I usually just let myself get pugged as a tank, but I've decided recently it might go smoother if I start making my own raid groups.
I come to the mage forums to ask for some questions, if you could help me that would be greatly appreciated.
Now, due to the trees, each will be a bit different, so I understand that each tree will have different stat needs and have higher/lower stats. If you could tell me what each one is for fire/frost/arcane, that would be great.
Edit: If you could give me the stats of what the mage should be at unbuffed, that would be nice.
1) What should the SP of a mage in 25 Naxxramas be?
2) What should the critical strike chance be in 25 Naxxramas?
3) How much mp5 or haste should a mage have if those stats are vaulable to them?
4) The hit cap for spellcasters as I understand is much higher then melee dps. Could you tell me what it is?
Please keep in mind I am not looking for stats that are meant for 25 Ulduar, I just want to get a rough estimate on what I should be looking for on base stats and what to expect. Thank you for your help.
Edit: Also, I'm mainly asking for the stats so I know what to look for in future raid attempts at higher gear levels. Its not so much I'm worried about Naxxramas itself.

hit rating should really be all you need to look at within their stats. other than that, you can look at their gear to see where most of it dropped from or their average ilvl (if you're doing a straight inspect of what they're wearing)..
even if you don't know the difference between valorous frostfire gear and valorous kirin tor gear for mages, i'm sure you know enough to recognize high ilvl gear when you see it, and if you're doing an armory on someone, gear tells you which boss it drops from.
running a raid isn't as difficult as you might think. you pretty much need to know one or two particular stats for each class and then you can just glance at their gear to get an idea of how they'd perform.
for tanks, you wanna know they're defense capped, and what their health is.
for healers you'd wanna know their spell power.
for melee dps, you wanna know they're AP (and possibly if they're hit capped.. DW classes never reach the white hit cap cause it's an absurd number)
for caster dps, you wanna know if they're hit capped

Just something I need to throw in.
I'm not so much saying that gear > skill in my questions. I apologize if I came off that way. The reason mainly why I am asking is so that I know what kind of stats to be looking at for when I help put a raid together.
Hopefully though I may get a response that could perhaps list out some key stats that I should look for when inspecting asking a mage questions.

1700+ spellpower (if not arcane, which should be around 1800-2000+). You wanna know if there hit capped as well.. (17%! 450 hit rating I reckon, not quite sure?)

i think it's 420 hit rating, but that's assuming absolutely NO talents that give you hit rating, and no draenei in the group.. 2 out of 3 raiding specs give you at least 3% hit rating.
Just something I need to throw in.

I understand what you mean, but the problem is that you really can't just pick one specific number for spell power and say that's the number to go for in naxx 25, and if you're below that you can bugger off.
That's why looking at someone's gear is very important, instead of just their stats. Yes, people can get ridiculously well geared from grinding heroics, but the fact remains that some pieces you still get from dungeons that are better than pure badge gear. (i've yet to replice my embrace of the spider from naxx 10..)
If you don't narrow-mind yourself into "You must have 1700 spell power to mage in my raid", and look at the whole picture you'll be a much better raid leader, and put together much more successful groups. However, hit rating is
always, always, always, always
the stat to look for.

420 assumes draenei. It's 446 without a Draenei.
bah you're right... my mage is a draenei so i'm just.. so used to using that marker.
sorry to the OP for my misinformation
