Hello to all.
Title got your attention? Good!
I'm running my first raid to Naxx tonight as raid leader. I know the tacs and I'm sure it'll all go fine.
I'm gonna be giving out instructions out via Vent so I'm asking for any tips and advice from others who have done the same!
Anything that may help? Any problems I may encounter?
Any experiences you'd care to share?
Any help at all would be great!

If by "attention" you mean, " I was going to flame you" then you are right.(like Muscleman did)
But in all honesty, just be patient with them, don't yell. Explain things clearly. Pay attention to the raid yourself! No tv, no wife, etc.
Make sure everyone can hear you in vent.
Most importantly. Have Fun.

Don't pay too much attention on healing meters. Especially if you have a Disc Priest raiding with you. :)
Just read through the tactics on wowwiki.com to familiarise yourself with how to communicate the tactics with others, and of course, have fun and good luck!
I'd actually recommend Tankspot.com they have youtube videos posted for every fight.

Being patient, especially with wipes, is the most important thing for me that I could tell you. That's not to say you shouldn't care, but the game needs to be fun for everyone.

And don't forget to tell shamans to drop a Cleansing Totem on Grobbulus.

Being a RL is fun and rewarding, and few are naturally good at it. The rest of us have to work on it. My suggestions?
First and foremost, keep it light. People like raiding with me because I "make em laugh and get teh lootz". Being knowledgable is secondary if you are a jerk. Also be sure to let your raiders know when they did a good job. Everyone likes a pat on the back now and again, amirite?
Secondly, be precise with your explainations. Make sure all the boss abilities are covered; it's never a good thing when you say "oh and make sure to avoid the blank blank" AFTER the tank pulls.
Third, be fair. If your guild has loot rules, abide by them 100%. It only takes ONE malicious instance to ruin your reputation as a fair RL. Mistakes do (and will) occur, and if that does happen make sure to rectify your mistake.
Lastly, keep the raid moving. Nothing can create problems within a raid like people getting restless. You don't have to speed raid, just make sure you're keeping a moderate pace.
Have fun and GL!

Nearly lost my own post there - someone changed the original title!
But seriously thanks for all the replies! Fingers crossed it'll all go fine tonight and we can do more of the same kind of thing again...
Once again thanks for all the replies!
