Lets see, here's my Guild History for my current main:
0-22, Unguilded.
23-54, Focus
55-70, Creative Guild Name (me and IRL friends created, was just 5 members)
70-80, Twilight Legion (guild I was in through most of TBC and leveled in during WotLK)
80, Demise (raiding guild that was created a month into WotLK, fell apart when we had no progress on Sarth+2, lasted 5 months)
80 current, Wendigo Brewing Co (formerly the best guild on the server, until vodka transferred onto Alterac Mountains...)
On my original server I was in two guilds. The first was The Assassins Caste, which was just a junk leveling guild I was in during my 20s. Then House of Arathor, a pretty good raiding guild during TBC.
As for other guild names on my server, just doing a little /who Dalaran...
R I O T
NIGHTSTALKERS
Focused Aggression (actually third best guild Alliance side)
Rising Pheonix
Ravens of Twilight
OneTry
Top Shelf
Prestige Worldwide
Puppies
Great Alliance
Departed
Meritocracy
Warpath

i dont know if these count as cheesy, but im in two guilds; my main is in <Fuzzy Slippers>
and my twink is in one called 'Drinkin and Twinkin'
I dont know if these qualify as lame or cheesy or not but i kinda like them....and i DO drink a lot twinking or otherwise. Also my favorite type of slippers happen to fuzzy ones.

Cheesy names don't bother me as much as guilds who don't know where the Shift key is (i.e. <awesome brotherhood>) and then there are the guilds who rape the space bar or use old lady Caps Lock.

Guild named "misunderestimated" on my server and they constantly spam for more recruits.
I actually called them on their name once in general say what does misunderestimated even mean? It means you incorrectly underestimated someone, which means you really estimated them correctly in the first place? Meaning when I think they suck they really do suck? It's like a double negative, they tried way too hard with that one..
It's a word that became famous when Bush Jr used it at some point. It became one of the most quoted "Bushisms". Taking this into account, the name simply becomes a dated political reference.
Also, <IAMGODZILLAYOUAREJAPAN> is the best one I've seen.

Alot of cheesey ones i know, the ones that get me the most are the names that use:
Two words that must seem 'cool' to the GM, like 'Angels of Darkness'
or 'Unborn Killers'
'Dark Knights'
'Elite Grunt'
'Night Killer'
It just gets on my nerves >.< lol
but on my server (Stormreaver EU) there are a few good ones:
'PVP SUX WHENS NAXXRAMAS' Been around since Vanilla, and 'Alaska Social Club'
Back when I was level 30 i was in The Dark Brotherhood :(
