No wonder why no one goes to this site for information anymore
I was with you until this asshattery.

This may be a bit of the ol' pot calling the kettle black. But after Bender presented his case, and actually proved to rebuttal many of your claims. (wasn't hit/expertise capped and didn't have reputation here and there... yada yada yada) he is providing a case. There has YET to be a blue post about whether or not this "nerf" (for a lack of better term) is really that or just a bug. Yet you all just jump down his throat. No wonder why no one goes to this site for information anymore, if you're all going to keep attacking him when he's not really even QQing anymore.
Geez...
Keep your egos inflated because it does the community a whole lot of good.

Couldn't agree more, far too much ePeening and not enough reading.
While the WoWHead site as a whole is a great source of info, the forums are like a pit of vipers. You get a more civil reply from Elitist Jerks and they're supposed to be Elitist Jerks! :p

Ouch, that's quite nasty. I was hoping it was a test/bug thing.
From the numbers being crunched at EJ I can only assume there are more changes to come because it looks like PTR in it's current state is quite a DPS loss over Live atm. Crazy stuff like SoR being better than SoC etc...
There must be changes on the way.

Edit:
Only white attacks can stack the Sea of Vengeance / Corruption dot. However special abilities should still trigger the bonus weapon damage. I'm not sure the current PTR build you have reflects that last bit.

Some SoM vs SoC numbers from 10 min. autoattacking, same gear, same relevant talents:
SoM: 874 to 2688
SoC: 652 to 2009
Highest numbers are highest crits.
I'm gonna consider though that we will get fairly more procs due to a faster CS, and (ACTUAL) proc on judgement.
Recoil is gone... got exo now too... Meh, i think beer makes it look better.

Exo should make up for it in PvP at least, but the PvEers just got their ass handed to them. Recoil was a non-issue.

As from the latest news, they want only autos to stack SoV dot, but any attack to proc the 33% (crittable) extra damage happening at 5 stacks.
It could be a bit slow and unefficient to stack up on hit and run fights like Hodir, or Mimiron.
We'll see.

Stacks up on whites, HotR, procs on all.
Still, this rips us a new one on multi-target fights and quick switches. We're looking at 12-15s time till seal kicks in. And yogg brain phase is what? 20 seconds? Not to mention tentacle groups in the DK-hold dream leading up to brain will live much longer due to lack of seal procs from DS. Oh, and guardians before that. Just put up SoR for the fight.
Bwah, this has me thinking about going tank mode for PvE. And PvP... well, I suppose I still can... do some battlegrounds?

You might be right in saying that overall single-target DPS will go up, at least a bit. However, from what I'm seeing, it will come at cost of a) vastly reduced AoE and b) less GCDs, mana and talent points to spend on utility. Sure, my regular raids will still take me, I will still perform acceptably. But I will have the feeling of underperforming, when compared to current situation.
Sure, patch is not finished, there is still time for changes, nothing is set in stone yet. But on the other hand, retribution has history of being shafted, and not only on single occastion :)

They have shown they can do a somewhat decent system (looking up at enhancement, wich is a FCFS aswell) but apparently they just dont seem intrested in doing that with us.
They could just add utility to pvp to compensate burst loss.
Looking back to TBC i can remember judgement of the crusader, wich as stupid as it was, has been our "2 diseases" or our "5 sunders" if you get what i mean.
A debuff applied actively from us, on a shared cooldown skill, that would make us lose a bit of front-burst in exchange of a superior damage later (and yet the possibility to dispel it in pvp like it is for diseases) could be exactly what we need now.
So, i look back at Judging Crusader and wonder if that was the solution.
The Crusader Strike the mobs in Stratholme have (1% increased holy damage taken per application could have been an idea too), but more like 2% stacking 5 times.
Dunno i wish it had more activity on our side, our attacks will still do the same adamage regardless of the order we pres them :/

As a Mage player with a Paladin Alt I kind of feel as if Blizzard has the same problem with Retribution PvE as they do with Frost PvE. They want it to work, but they have no idea what to do with it. Whatever they decision they take will always feel as if it's been designed around PvP/Arena rather than PvE.
