Shield specialization is pretty important imo, paladins benefit from fast hitting bosses/multi-mob tanking and shield spec helps a ton imo.
ardent defender is nice, but it rarely comes in handy imo

You should get ardent defender. Since it is harder to leap frog now, it can come in handy when healers have something going on. Like a silence or stun or earthquake or get stuck in a cyclone (fathom lord in SSC comes to mind) Being able to take an extra hit or 2 or 3 or however many, depending on the boss, can make or break the raid. My guild uses a pally tank for the hunter add on that fight and then goes to be an off healer. If the pally dies on that phase, its a wipe. But if the pally lives, the other 2 adds go down easy and then we down the boss. On our runs it is critical to keep our pally tank up. By the way if your wondering, yes we use a pally tank to concecrate to pick up the pet.
Or what happens if your late on your holy shield, or if you get it caught in the global cooldown and you get crushed? It would sure help to alleviate the spike damage your going to be getting.
But thats just imo, like everyone else.

No, I don't think it's a problem you've taken reckoning, it's good for kara and under
however, you've wasted points by spending it into imp devo aura and Seal of command

u should get improved ret aura Klabb good fro extra threat
you'd have to spend 3 extra points to reach it and 2 to spend it
Chance to be hit * 13 damage * 1.9 threat / mob swing timer ~= 7-10 TPS...
not worth 5 talent points imo

Well, the SoC is beacuse of it is quite nice for soloing, and the imp devo aura is because i think it is the most superior aura for a 1 on 1 tanking job. Tho reduced spelldmg is nice, I dont see that it will be usefull for me untill i get to the later raids such as SSC and TK.

However, 1% damage rduction for 5 talent points is a waste however you look at it, like I've said, the points are better spent elsewhere

I've seen many trash pulls in kara based of spell damage... or was i half asleep...

Stoicism is more of a pvp talent. When you are tanking and then get stunned, keep in mind it isn't always a stun. It could be disorient or incapacitate type affects, not exactly a stun. The other part of the talent just SCREAMS pvp. I think that those 2 points would be better spent in improved judgement. 8 second judgement instead of 10 seconds is a lot of threat on long fights, especially since it isnt tied in with the global cooldown

avenger's shield = easily 2k extra threat to start off
10% extra threat over the long run does not compare to the initial threat, esp if you take a hit from the beginning and your healer spams
JoR = ~400 threat without spell damage, at around 200 SD, at 42% bonus, ~550 threat lead
boss hits for 3k
paladin healer heals 3k = 750 threat, boss runs towards the healer
any other healer 3k = ~1100 threat, boss runs faster to the healer
your raid wipes >.>
ofc, this is only in theory....
