Ok- but if you know the neighbors moved, and you see someone doing something at the house, and you have no idea whether or not it has been sold, you then hold them at gunpoint "just in case?" I could see it if they had just called the police, to have them double check that the people were supposed to be there. But they took the step of holding them hostage at gunpoint because they weren't sure if the house has been sold? I hope I never move into the neighborhood of anyone who thinks that's reasonable.
EDIT: I hope they get charged.
I never said it was the best desicion they could have made, and yeah it was just a tad extreame to go over wielding guns to ask what they hell your doing.
Some people make irrational decisions.

Elhonna's link - the perpetrators were very lucky that none of the Kalonjis called the cops: they could've ended up shot themselves. Idiots.
The perpetrators called the cops.
And the cops came and arrested the Kalonji's for trespassing...in their own home...because they didn't have the closing papers in their possession. So not only are the neighbors idiots, but the cops didn't put in the 5 minutes of effort it would have taken to call the realtor, or call whoever had the closing papers, and have them clear it up before they arrested them.

While I agree there should've been some red flags I find it kind of ridiculous that people think Urban Outfitter's is actively trying to promote Holocaust imagery as a positive thing.

Looks like they did arrest those two morons who held their new neighbors at gunpoint. No word yet on whether or not the police will be facing disciplinary actions.

I may be ignorant on this matter, but don't many Jewish people wear Star of David jewelry to this day as a symbol of their faith/heritage? I mean, I know for sure that I have one friend who does, and I felt like it was somewhat common. I don't understand how people can still wear the star as jewelry, but for someone to put it on clothing is racist or pro-holocaust.

It's, I think, less the fact that it is a star of David, and more of it being a star of David as a pocket patch. No one wears it as a pocket patch... well... not since 1945.

Of course not, as said farther down: “Urban Outfitters has a long history of putting out products that are problematic. They have offended Jews, African-Americans, Mexican-Americans, Irish-Americans and Catholics,” Morrison said. “For St. Patrick’s Day, they released a T-shirt with the words, 'Irish I was Drunk.' They have also released products like 'Ghettoopoly' or a Jesus doll on a cross that could be dressed up in different outfits, including a costume of the devil.”
“They have continuously crossed the line into incivility,” he added. “We have asked them in the past to meet with us so we can discuss these issues, but we have never received a reply. There is a way to be successful without offending or belittling people.”The company gets free press every time this comes along; Urban knows what it's doing, and if it cause a frenzy, they still get more people looking at their gear and more people buying.....but really, getting bent out of shape for a t-shirt shows that some people just have too much time on their hands.
In other words: Controversy like sex sells.

Well, nice to know some of the laws still work.

Apparently the best way to get attention to a cause is to be what you're protesting against. I'm curious if the live-export and slaughterhouse protesters will follow suit.

Hitchens did it too with waterboarding. It doesn't follow that the practices aren't bad just because someone is willing to do them (see two girls one cup, for example).
Anyway, more news. Vatican annoyed with nuns for spending too much time
combating poverty
(and not enough fighting gay marriage).

Obama slow jams the news
on Jimmy Fallon. I'm sure this leaves a professional impression on the entire world. The thing that bothers me is the "coolness" factor that causes people to vote for the guy, with no knowledge of his policies, and the negative effect of those policies on their lives.Hitchens
Who is this you speak of?
Edit: Obama

While, I feel sorry for those animals used in experiments, I still would like to have all the products tested for possible damage to living beings. Unless, we find alternative, animal testing should be around.
1) Animals are living beings- I'm not sure if you're aware. Perhaps you should refresh yourself on biology.
2) There is a difference between testing medicines- which will be used to cure diseases in humans- on animals to make sure they're safe, and testing cosmetics (make up, perfume, etc.) on animals to make sure they're safe when the advancement in those fields isn't going to cater to much more than vanity and new marketing angles to make money.
I agree that animal testing is necessary for drugs. I don't agree that we need to torture animals to provide an even larger selection of blush, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick, etc. I feel like the entire aisle it takes up at the store is good enough.
The point she was making was about COSMETICS testing.
