Well to be fair he's right in the line of thinking of high crime rates can be directly linked to high poverty or unemployment rates. Though I still believe bringing it up at this point is kind of... random?

I'd call it more targeted. Us vs them mentality. Democrats want to help you get raped, but the republicans are obstructionists that don't care if you get raped and murdered. It's about the reelection. It's not very professional.

True, but here's the quote:
“In 2008, when Flint had 265 sworn officers on their police force, there were 35 murders and 91 rapes in this city,” the vice president said. “In 2010, when Flint had only 144 police officers, the murder rate climbed to 65 and rapes–just to pick two categories–climbed to 229. In 2011, you now only have 125 shields. God only knows what the numbers will be this year for Flint if we don’t rectify it.”
That makes it sound like his only argument is 'we don't have enough cops.' Maybe he also said something about unemployment/crime relationships but I don't see it there.

I disagree. It's
too
professional. Politics is all about the reelection. And yes, his reasoning is fairly retarded. Policing and consequences are a fraction of what causes crime rates compared to employment and wealth.

His profession is not to get elected, but to be the Vice President of the US. It is unprofessional. And, even if we aren't talking about his job title, his actions are contrary to the
concept
of professionalism.

That's not supposed to be a debate point, I agree it's stupid. More a kind of rib-dig at the game of
Thrones
politics in general.

Find a funny or disturbing news article? Want to share and discuss it?
Worth noting: room for discussion about the linked articles is allowed by the OP, who happens to have been me. I knew that there would be a desire to discuss/debate the articles, and I feel that should be encouraged.

I wasn't saying that we shouldn't discuss, just that my little jib wasn't an actual discussion point :P

CNN opinion article
According to the Washington Post, the financial and banking sectors have given President Obama more money than all the Republican candidates combined. Seems like Wall Street is not that scared of a second term.

doesn't accept money from lobbyists
. His campaign may use money given to it by lobbyists, but that's not the same thing, obviously (it has a 'b').

CNN would like to point out that a show that is produced by FOX went way over the line.
CNN would like to remind you that it aired on FOX, and that FOX is just way over the line when FOX aired this show on its FOX tv station. FOX is just plain wrong... FOX. Anyway, it makes light of domestic violence. The show is Family Guy. Family Guy has had domestic violence themes for years. I remember Peter pushed Louis down the stairs one time to keep her in the garage on a new years party. Anyway. I don't think that it was over the line. It was just an opportunity for CNN to stick its nose in the air and sneer at FOX.
