KKK wants to adopt a highway
. They want to clean up litter. Apparently, people are fighting this. I don't know why. Could someone explain to me how this is a bad thing?

Long old memories I'd say.

Those people are dead. Not saying racist people today are right, but how is them wanting to clean a highway wrong?
I mean, we have a racist organization in the US Congress (CBC). We can't have them clean our streets too? How is that fair?

IT'S ALL PR TRICKS!
No but this now and them going anti WBC just feels a bit off for me.

Honestly, I wouldn't want the KKK having a highway in their name, no matter what they were doing with it.

Hmmm... I don't want the KKK to exist, but that isn't the point. If someone who is a negative wants to do something that is a positive, I say let them.

Adopting a highway is a form of advertising. People don't want the KKK to advertise, that's all. It's not entirely a positive - no such thing as a free lunch, and all.
Father bashes daughter's abuser to death after catching him in the act
. Police are hinting that they're not going to press charges, as it was in defense of his daughter. What do you guys think - fair enough, or did he go too far?

Completely fair; even if that did go before the judge, there's no way the father would get a real sentence, all things considered.

I almost posted that same news article. As a father, I understand his actions. I'm not going to call them "fair"... but... well.. a 4 year old? Come on. I don't think the police should press charges.

God Bless Texas!
All I gotta say about that one.
Persoanlly I think every child molester should be required to spend 15 minutes in a room with any and every male member of the victims family, and whatever is left of him, get sent to general population prison...or an unmarked grave.

*required. I don't want all child molesters to die. I think that is a bit much. I can understand wanting someone who molested your own child to suffer, though. In fact, I've described what I would do, vividly, if anyone touches my kids. If you want the details, ask me in email and I'll give it to you in color.

I hate to say it, but I do. Then again, I have a pretty strong viewpoint of Capital Punishment. I think all child molesters, rapists, and
fully unjustified
murderers should be put to a swift death.
I have to highlight "fully unjustified" when it comes to murder, as I realize that some murders are less heinous than others, yet are still a murder. If someone gets angered beyond a point, thay can snap, and make a horrible decision and take a life. This is what I beleve a life sentance is for. But cold bollded, calculated, 1st degree murder should cost you your life.
For me its simple...the ultimate crime deserves the ultimate punishment, and an extended prison sentence is not really so much a punishment as it is a drastic lifestyle change. You lose your freedom, but thats all. You still get to wake up every day. You still have access to your loved ones, if they decide they want to have access to you. You get to eat well, have proper medical treatment, read, draw....all the things you took from your victim, you still get to enjoy.

I think some people may deserve to lose their lives, but I don't think society is very good at making that judgement call. In the absence of a perfect judicial system, I say we should refrain from taking human life.

Isn't that sexist? You'd be surprised at what a human female would do in defense of their young.

To me, this is the equivalent of a bank being closed down, all their customer's money being taken by the government then the government saying that it's not their fault that they won't give their money back.
Except, of course, that there are very specific legislated provisions for what happens to a bank's cash and customers' accounts.
What this is the equivalent of is a drug dealer's family coming around and saying that they want their legitimate stuff that was all taken away by the cops when they raided the house.
The issue with Carpathia has nothing to do with the government, because a company in administration (what you guys would call Chapter 11 bankruptcy) would be in exactly the same position - unable to pay its suppliers without express authorisation from whoever's frozen the assets. Now, Carpathia can sue the DoJ for damages, but realistically, it's just a creditor under a contract with Megaupload, whose assets are frozen. Something that needs to be considered is the legal status of the relationships - Megaupload, as a company, still exists - just because the website was shut down doesn't mean that the legal entity was wound up.
