NYC crime drops 80%
due to "stop and frisk" law. Is it worth the tradeoff?
In 2011, the New York City Police Department stopped 685,724 people of whom an overwhelming 88 percent were deemed innocent.
That means that in 2011, the NYPD caught ~70,000 people who were deemed to possess contraband (drugs, illegal weapons, etc.) or were up to wrongdoing as a result of randomly talking to people on the street, and looking through their belongings on hand when they felt they should be suspicious.
You could argue that the TSA stops and checks millions of air passengers each year, and an even greater majority would be found to be innocent of wrongdoing.

Pretty slippery slope.
If you are doing nothing wrong, than you should not mind being searched. Then again, if you are doing nothing wrong, you should not be searched.
I would go further to say that police could also start randomly searching houses, and a similar percentage would be found to be in possesion of illegal items of substances as well. So why not extend the policy to random searches of private property, especially in known drug areas and high crime areas?

National Geographic
look at life in North Korea
. Complete with info on concentration camps, child starvation, and personality cults, this is a great "news article". I highly recommend it.
Edit: My favorite part is after the eye doctor from a different country is barely allowed into the country, operates on a blind guy with American equipment, he gets his bandages off, and can finally see again, the first thing he does is go to thank a picture of Kim Jong Il, and vows to get a gun and kill all the Americans.

Chomsky
: When Obama administration decides they don't like somebody, they murder them.
Edit: I love this article, because Gamer has to either A) admit Noam Chomsky is an idiot who doesn't know what he is talking about, or B) agree that Obama murders everyone he doesn't like.

Mytie is still unable to accurately paraphrase arguments he disagrees with.Care to make a correction to my paraphrase, or at least explain
how
I am wrong? I'm a bit surprised at you. You are usually very good at backing up your assertions with arguments, and not just leaving them hanging.

Did you watch that video and honestly believe "Obama murders
everyone
he doesn't like" to be an accurate summary of Chomsky's point?
When Obama administration decides they don't like somebody, they murder them. From the horse's mouth.

Obama =/= Obama administration.
When they unanimously agree that they don't like someone, they ignore international law to murder them. Murder is the illegal killing of someone. As far as I'm aware, the US still doesn't get to decide international law.
Edit: Did you see what else
Chomsky
has been doing recently from the NDAA thread?
Care to explain why Chomsky is an idiot for thinking US citizens shouldn't be detained indefinitely without trial?

And does that sentence, on its own without the immediately preceding sentence about Bush, accurately summarize the point he was making? (Hint: No.)
He used the most inflammatory language possible to summarize a single drone strike. It's not that Obama doesn't like people, and just murder them. That isn't the case at all. But that's what he said. That's what is ridiculous. Does Obama just kill murder someone that they don't like, based on the fact that they use drone strikes in war? No. It's not true at all. Even in this context, it's still wrong. But that's how Chomsky operates. He says the most shocking anti-America stuff he can, and that's how he stays relevant. The guy is a language professor. He knows the words he uses and how they operate. He knows what he is saying. He says it for a reason. The reason is, he is insane. There you have it.
