Hey guys I just have a "what do you think" kind of question.
I have an 80 DK and I have Herb 450 and Inscription around 430 I think. I have been considering for some time dropping the herb now because I can just buy what I need (and I do a lot anyway because I hate to farm) and picking up Jewel crafting. I have an 80 hunter with mining so I can just have him go and find all the ore I will need. I have been considering this because of the awesome gems you get to use at 350 JC plus I just think it would be cool to have another profession that may make me some cash and neat toys.
So what would some of you do? I have a nice guide so I should be able to level it fairly easily, gold providing of course lol
Thanks for any input :)

Once you have inscription into wotlk herb range, it is pointless to have herbalism to supply it. Herbs usually sell cheap (beside lichbloom, go figure) and you can transform wotlk ink into lower ink. So unless you really want the Lifebloom heal, yeah drop herbalism for anything else.

I picked up herbalism on an alt to supply my Inscriptor... And found it almost completely useless. Herbs of all but a very few ranges were dirt cheap on the AH, and those ranges it was cheaper to buy Ink of the Sea and convert.

To add to this, I'm picking up low end Northrend herbs for 10g/stack- makes a lot of ink, cheap.
I was able to spend 100-150g and get enough ink to last me a while.
