Spoken like someone trying to justify their actions. Let's start with some statistics now...after all, they're like loose women, you can do what you want with them.
I took no part in the creation of the launch of the Premium. It's not my deed, I have nothing to justify. So many of you seem convinced that we are going down. With no evidence. The Administrators are convinced are are progressing. With evidence. And since I don't understand your illogical assumptions, I try to explain, time and again, why we think such assumptions are wrong. If you are going to pull statistics, use Wowhead ones. Bringing the story of another website or ten won't help. Because it'll be another website.Bottom line, without greater quality or quantity of evidence, your guess about the future is more unlikely to become true than ours.
True enough, I suppose. Although I still believe it hard to get a real feeling about a community, unless you actively participate in it.However, I presented my argument - I have been here for a little while, and I have the prognosis of the people that have around since the beginning of this website, and all of us agree that nothing bad is about to happen in the foreseeable future. Unless you have some information the owners of the website don't? It's either than, or our entire team is absolutely blind and ignorant of what's going on.You mentioned WoWWiki a little while ago. Disregarding the fact that it's a completely different type of site ("Hey, at least we have Google!"), what's the important DB feature we are forcing you to pay for? The entire database is still free, and you've had the word of probably every single Staff member (somewhere throughout the pages), that we plan to keep it that way.I am honestly curious. By now I am no longer trying to convince you we are right, and you are wrong. It's not important - if you don't like the Premium, you don't like it, and I have no new arguments to throw at you. I am just humanly curious why you, and other people who think like you, are so resistant to believe us. Do you think we are lying to you, or do you think we (and the Admins in particular) don't have enough control over where the site is going? What is it that we are missing?

To blue/green/purple usersMy personal suggestion: just lock this thread and leave a final message (the one people will read, after 20 pages...). Just explain your decision and what you think will be the future of this website. The idea is good for obvious reasons. I still think you should focus more on basic-useful-needed features (already mentioned 1000's of times) more than adding fancy frames or ribbons. But that's just me.Within a month people wont even remember this topic and will just use the site as always did before. Let's move on, because -that's my opinion- the overall arguments/tone of this thread are dangerously walking the path of official Wow forums.
Now all u have to do is to wait for ppl to get greedy and it will all go down hill. Just w8.
You make me sad :(I would've liked if one named Ishamael likes the feature...
Oi reading 23 pages of commentary has given me a headache.Probably about 15 pages of users haven't even RTFA from what I've read, and frankly while I do use adblock sometimes on sites with annoying ads it's got to be pretty freaking obvious that you're taking money away from them and hurting their bottom line. If you pay for your internet, you know that bandwidth costs money. Given that Wowhead probably uses more bandwidth in a day than you could hope to use in a month you could probably understand why they need the money. Ads are an antiquated revenue source to be sure, but there aren't many other ways to earn money (or break even) with "Free" websites nowdays. Given that the majority of people who browse this site are at least somewhat computer savvy, we all probably know how to block ads anyways (negating any revenue for them).I'll pick up a subscription once I can get a bit more money myself, but personally I dislike the "Premium" title you're adding to it. If you're really trying to make it like a donation but through a corporation, shouldn't you make the title something like "Friends of Wowhead" or something warm and fuzzy? Premium suggests that they're better than the regulars, which you have stated countless times in the comments and the post that you don't intend to do.
Please, before you post another comment, take a look at Peter over there -->.. and be glad I didn't bring out Baby Peter, because then you surely wouldn't have scrolled further on!
