In real life archery,
1.Aim
2.Fire
3.
Go get the arrows from where you shot them
4.Do steps 1 too 4 again
Why isnt that like it in WoW?
Whenever you kill a mob, part of the what you get when you loot it is 30% of the arrows or bullets you spent at killing that mob.
I know its not logical if you do the same thing with bullets, but if you can with arrows, i think it is a bit unfair that you cant with bullets.

This is a great idea imo. Arrows get expensive, even if you could only recover a third of them that would be awesome.
It could also save abit of time if you are using reputation vendored specific projectiles like timeless arrows and shells, so you would have to go back there to get the projectiles less often
BTW for thoes who do not know
Projectiles =Arrows and Bullets

this idea gave me two more ideas:
Fetch..................................5 yd range
Requires a pet
5 Focus (Loyalty level 1)
4 Focus (Loyalty level 2)
3 Focus (Loyalty level 3)
2 Focus (Loyalty level 4)
1 Focus (Loyalty level 5)
0 Focus (Loyalty level 6)
Instant
Whenever activated, your pet will loot the corpse of your enemy, allowing you to get the items that have dropped by the enemy from your pet.
1.Your pet loots the corpse
2.Your pet comes back to you
3.You "Loot" your pet
*Not you are 5 yd range from the corpse, your pet is 5 yd range from the corpse.
*Can be set automaticly, like any other skill your pet has (for example, when growl is automatic, whenever your pet has enough focus he will cast growl on the enemy he is attacking).
*i scales with focus cost with loyalty because i meant of the experience the pet has with you (For example : Your pet has spent ages with you so he knows automatically that he wants you to Fetch the loot, so it casts no focus, but when your pet is new to you, he isn't really regular to fetch things, so it costs focus).
Sniff..................................5 yd range
Requires a pet
5 Focus (Loyalty level 1)
4 Focus (Loyalty level 2)
3 Focus (Loyalty level 3)
2 Focus (Loyalty level 4)
1 Focus (Loyalty level 5)
0 Focus (Loyalty level 6)
2 sec cast
Makes your pet sniff a corpse, which might make it Fetch extra loot from the corpse.
Kind of like pickpocket when Fetch (See above) is activated.
*Not you are doing the 2 sec cast, your pet is doing the 2 sec cast
*Not you are 5 yd range from the corpse, your pet is 5 yd range from the corpse.
*i scales with focus cost with loyalty because i meant of the experience the pet has with you (For example : Your pet has spent ages with you so he knows automatically that he wants you to Sniff the loot, so it casts no focus, but when your pet is new to you, he isn't really regular to fetch things, so it costs focus).

Would work for arrows. Not so much bullets :(

You could also have it where some of the retrieved arrow/bullets are damages and only do half the damage to the target.

In real life you DONT have Arcane Shot, Serpent Sting, Viper Sting, Concussive Shot, Serpent Trap, Freeze Trap, Frost Trap, Exposive Trap, etc. That's why this is a Fantasy Role Playing game. :-)
Seriously, all that aside, your idea to reclaim arrows & ammo is intrigueing though the same allows for spellcasters would also need to be allowed. I doubt it would be practical Blizz standpoint. After all, they want you to buy stuff that requires farming for gold that requires game play that requires monthly fee. Can't really blame them. It's good for business.
Things to ask your accountant: The Bottom Line? Is it Horizontal or Vertical?

So?
In real life you cant be a gnome
but both in wow and in real life you can be a human.
Does that mean wow isnt a Fantasy game?

I can understand the arrows but for a bullet it's a whole different story. I don't think you can re-use a bullet after it's been already triggered.

You realize there is a specialty ammunition vendor for both aldor and scryer that sells all the rep ammo (Mysterious, Timeless, Wardens,Hellfire, Felbane) in Shatt right?? >.<

I As far as pets looting, that made me laugh for some reason. No disrespect intended, it just made me laugh. Maybe pets could get a bag slot, like a horse's saddle bag that could be used to collect items they loot/scrounge in the wild. Interesting concept.
I like that, i'll put my
Quiver of a Thousand Feathers
on my "Pet Slot" and call my wolf 'Quiver'.
Attack, Quiver!

In real life you dont get a huge two handed axe drop from a bird half the axes size. In real life you dont ride a kodo or a white gryphon around and in real life you dont have a class that can turn invisable...
So anything can happen in this game, so getting arrows and BULLETS back is totaly realistic in the game..
I mean last time I checked irl there arent dragons flying around that you can fight.

Well you sorta can do all of this in RL i mean come on kodo is like a rhino Might be hard to train but it is plausible. A sea gull might be able to carry an axe thats bigger then it and drop it when it dies. Like the kodo rhino thing I could likely tame a bird if there was one big enough or if I where small enough. And for invisibility, armies all around the world are working on it. But really I think the ammo idea would be nice and the pet one interesting though for the comment of having it a talent I don't think that'd be very fair for the hunter. However to make the WHOLE idea fair you might have to make it a Talent so its similar to spells that might give mana back or something ... not sure if there are any. and alas Dragons Tell the welsh that there's no or never where dragons!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon#Dragons_in_world_mythology
Look my point is that there are far more possibilities in the so called real world then there could ever possibly be in a persons mind so Yay for ligers, dragons, flying pigs and zombions!!
Sorry for my verbal diarrhea first post on a new forum *yay*!
