Who wants to try and improve and overcome your short handings when you can roll a class that has the mass survivability and burst damage and press I.win button?
That's exactly what the OP is gonna do.
And this adds what?
How about you tell me how you over come a warlock's "short handings" in PvP? What is your insite into the warlock?
And how is the word "Hunter" and the word "pally" or "death knight" look any thing a like?

I will not miss the spending hafe a WSG mach chatting it up with the rez healer.
WSG was one of my favourite BGs when I was grinding for my honor set. Sure I said hello to the spirit healer a few times, but no more than my opponents did.
Aff 'locks are amongst the best when it comes to running interference for a FC (iHoT, DC, CoEx, iFear).
I've even capped a few flags myself when the druids and shaman were otherwise engaged, two in a single match once!
Play to your strengths and their weaknesses; and remember that BGs are
team
sports.

Infleto, don't take this the wrong way but if you think rolling a hunter will solve all your PvP problems you are sadly mistaken. I've pvp'd with warlocks who literally rip the faces off people with the way they throw conflag/incinerate crits around astounds me.
Hunters take a lot more to be successful in PvP simply because they have a lot more, slightly less effective tools to keep people away from them in 1v1 combat. If I'm getting beaten on by a DK/warr it's essentially GG for me as I can't keep them away from me long enough to pump out any reasonable amount of damage (Explosive shot crits don't do that much on targets when they're near the resil cap).
Please don't roll a hunter if you think it will solve your PvP problems. We don't need any more people coming to our class thinking it will be a cakewalk in either a PvE or PvP (don't even get me started on how warlocks rape us in raids, that's another story).

I often top my bg charts (I mostly play premade) and I play as a destruction warlock. I very often get highest Killing Blows and top-5 Damage Done. As long as our guild leader doesn't make me camp ST in AB. :/
If you're running premades then the only thing that matters is winning the BG as quickly as possible, killing blows, HKs and damage done are irrelevant.
You'll earn far more honor from
turn-ins
than you ever will by grinding the midfield.

Just throwing my two cents in as a non warlock:
I play a disc priest in arenas, I sit around 805-820 resilience (Depending on what rings/trinkets I feel like using.), and I have to say, I despise warlocks. A lot. A well played one will kick me and my team's ass. (I'm a blood elf priest, I play with a Tauren DK and a Undead Rogue). Sure, I can trinket out of a fear or seduce. Try, you know, casting it again? Then I'm running around aimlessly, sighing, while the rest of your team kicks my rogue or DKs ass.
OH. Wait. You just want to win in 1 versus 1s. For a start, like it's been said, Blizzard doesn't balance for 1 versus 1. Secondly, how do you say SHAMANS are up there for 1 versus 1s? Blizzard is intentionally buffing them next patch, they have lower health than any class and very, very few survivability abilities. Hunters are essentially more mobile warlocks, with less versatile pets, you know that, yes? So have fun leveling one, only to go onto the hunter forum later and complain about how warlock's are balanced with their mean little spells to survive.
Also, you have an amazing spell. Mana drain? Use it. It's awesome. It also makes me want to smash my keyboard against the wall. Oh, and the melee thing? Guess what? You have a demonic circle. Try not placing it in the middle of the map, and actually placing it behind a wall or something so you can get some breathing room. Both my teammates always hate trying to kill a warlock because of demonic circle. Sure, we target a warlock first. They're squishy. No one denies that. They're also insanely powerful if left alone, there's a reason they get targeted first BESIDES being squishy.

Contrary to the OP, I have actually had one of the most positive experiences in PvP.
I do better with my warlock than I do with my shaman or rogue (both geared 80s).
The mere fact that you do not know how to combine SF, sed, aftermath, fear/deathcoil and demonic circle into an effective nuking/kiting combination is not Blizzard's fault.
Hell, I don't even have PvP gear, with the exception of my robe.
Sorry, but I don't feel bad for you.
