WoW for our men and women in the military

I would be willing to pay an extra few dollars to help pay for a military account per month, it would be the least I could do for the people who defend us so we can sit on our butts playing this game. If we were willing, and agreed to it, an extra 5 dollars a month could go to a "Military WoW Account" and that be used to pay for their usage to the server of their choice. The money would only be used on a pay as you play program. Most military are unable to access computers for long periods, due to deployments or just general access to WiFi and even if its only a few precious hours playing with family and friends, if my few dollars helps, then I will gladly pay it.
Also... this could be done for ALL countries and militaries.

Absolutely not.
It's a job, regardless of how difficult you might deem it, they signed up to do that job
Just because the government decided to send them into a some say contrived hostile situation it's still a job and a choice.
Do doctors and teachers get the same teary eyed sentiment, Where is the call out for free subs for them?

This whole thread is trollbait.
While I honestly have the deepest regret and sorrow for those individuals who's best option at the time was military servitude, It doesn't have any relation to WoW and shouldn't be discussed here.
EDIT: This is also apparently a 4 year necro.

It's in General discussion, and it's as relevant as someone posting their views on whatever crazy class idea they've come up with, or what the next expansion should be.
Yeah it's a necro, but still relevant in that many countries still have troops abroad, besides the majority of posts on this forum are old ideas that have been discussed to death.

So what have you done to serve? People like you make me wish that the draft was back. Then you might appreciate what those in the service go through. So get off your rear, and get a DD-214 and an Honorable.
The government isn't paying you to play WoW, they're paying you to kill the enemy. Don't waste the tax dollars. Less QQ, more pew pew!

I served 18 years and happen to agree with those who don't think we should get free subs. It is a job. It was my choice. I made good money doing it. The benefits were excellent, and the networking opportunities were amazing.
In other words, I did my bit, I was well compensated for doing so, and that is it. I am entitled to no more, and wouldn't expect any freebies or teary eyed sentiment for having done so.
Edit: And the draft is the most abysmally stupid idea ever. I've worked in recruiting and those who got turned away were turned away for darned good reasons. They would've made horrible soldiers, or been horribly unhappy in the service. Dragging the unwilling into the fray only drags down standards and smashes a boot onto the face of morale.
Edit 2: Furthermore, we are not the property of our respective governments to be ordered about at will. The Draft is the single largest human rights violation ever. Bar none.

I don't care one way or the other, except for some of the answers that I see. Then again I am sure those with the smart ass/harsh answers would have never served; will never serve; and just take the free ride. I had enough of that in the 60s/70s.
Down time is good, and appreciation shown by a company is good.

Your got your appreciation in the form of pay and benefits through taxation. Expecting more is like telling someone its your birthday and demanding a present, it's just another form of the Entitlement Syndrome. Another who serves should do so for their own reasons, and expectation of never-ending thanks is a pretty poor one.
As for those who choose not to serve, well that's one of our freedoms that apparently you served to protect. If you don't care for people exercising their freedom, there are lots and lots of countries led by Theorcracies and Dictatorships you could always go and live in.

So how many patrols did you make?
Right now the lack of a draft is why this nation is no longer invested in the military or any "war". Only the military minority is at war and thats a shame. People want all the freedoms but not share in the responsibility for maintaining it.
Until Desert This, That and the Other Thing, I was against the draft, but when I see how many tours our young people are making, I have rethought it.
Regarding any recruiting, well, yall did not see the entire population walk through the door, and there is no doubt that although there were those who were unfit, there are many, many more who were.
The draft was around for a very long time and it served this country well.

Get the chip off your shoulder. It's apparently making you rather bitter. Why should citizens relish the thought of never-ending war? It's rather stupid.

Well...except for all of those people who fled to other countries from the draft of course, or were locked up for refusing to be drafted, and any of the other times where the people have spoke out about it.

Thats funny! I payed taxes, before, during and after I was in. And I have been to Dictatorships, and only the guys with the guns had any rights. I just feel that service should be a joint venture, OR perhaps we should look at how things were done in the Book, Starship Troopers. No service = no franchise, gov. jobs etc.
I gotta admit that given your answers, Eccentrica, never served a day. Networking, great pay. Pull the other one.

I have less than no interest in either impressing you or convincing you with a long list of my posting and assignments. Frankly you're just not that important to me. Anyone who knows me and my posting history knows that I speak and write the truth and don't embellish. I leave the creation of false histories to those with identity issues.
I guess you frittered away the opportunities that service provided to you. I didn't. And yeah, I was well paid and the benefits were awesome. Sucks you weren't, but I considered compensation and advancement when I chose my trade.

This thread has turned completely into a discussion regarding the military and its facets. There is nothing left based in WoW.
If you wish to further discuss this, in a more mature manner than what I've seen here, you may make a thread in Off-Topic or find one that already exists (there likely is one by now regarding this subject).
