I can understand if this is done for a gameplay exploit, but if people are doing this just to mess around, is it worth banning?I'm curious as to what they were banned for.
Happened on my server, and since then most of the people I know have had their bans overturned.
Pretty much our entire raid team got banned, logged on this morning and reversed. Complete screw up by Blizz it seems.
It's Underrated skipping the AQ40 trash all over again.
What is considered "massive"? Because the CM later stated
Haha, 15 years on and it's still remembered, was hilarious then, and just as funny nowWatching all the 2nd accounts of Overrated log in and still clear the damn place >.<
These bans were reverted. Confirmed by multiple people.
Wonder if this is related to all the guilds getting into the "unflagged" sections outside AQ to summon their raids. The summon services on my server charge stupid prices for these safe locations.
Most of my guild was banned today and then unbanned a couple of hours later. We are on a PVE server and thus have not had a need for a "safe spot" so we have never used any wonky AQ summons, so I find this reason very unlikely.
This also happened to myself and many of my guildmates. We were all banned for 2 weeks, then all got unbanned 2 and a half hours later. The email only claimed "Exploitation of game mechanics" but seemed to basically read as "you know what you did."Not a one of us knew why.My best guess is it had something to do with the multiboxing changes and they thought we used some software they believed was bad, but wasnt. Even then, that theory is iffy as they sent out warnings to those players, and none of us recieved one nor do we multibox.
Probably not related to the recent Multibox nerf. None of us multiboxers have been banned/suspended yet - or at least, nobody has mentioned this in the various boxer discords/forums I frequent (and trust me, they'd be vocal if they got suspended). Now, if you were a multiboxer with a summon team underneath Orgrimmar, selling summons+mind controls to get Alliance players Warchief's Blessing buff ... well that's a different story.
Maybe fix your game blizz?
I suspect the same exploits available on the old-client were still available on this client and those who looked or hunted for it online, were caught because they were being watched. Exploiters and cheaters deserve their comeuppance.
They did but people wanted no changes so they reverted it back.
Almost certain that if you get banned it is simply not from messing around. Almost always related to short cutting raids or dungeons to maximize rewards. It takes intentional actions to get banned in WoW. If your doing something that risks your hard earned account, then do not do it.
I wonder if this has anything to do with Blizz fixing the pathing to get on top of Skeram's temple without aggroing him, which seems to have broken a number of floors at various places in the game.
Why i NEVER get banned or suspended ? Because i never even think how to exploit the game to get unfair advantage. There is no exploit by accident!
