Completing one quest for Booty Bay will instantly make you hated by this faction.

It is worthy of note that there are some quests available for those who choose to gain positive repuation with this faction:

To achieve the necessary reputation, you will need to attack and kill Booty Bay guards. Each kill will net you a varied amount of reputation depending on the mob, but will decrease your repuation with both Booty Bay and the rest of the Steamwheedle Cartel.

To gain Bloodsasil rep, kill Booty Bay Guards, but be warned, you lose rep with ALL goblin cities. The rewards of becoming friendly are a pirate hat. I reccommend that if you do do this, grind the Bloodsail as soon as you finish to get your BB rep back.

This faction currently contains some little glitches that can aid all you completists out there (I'm one of them) to get maximum reputation with all of them, there are sea giants in feralas that gives you 2,5 rep to all goblins per kill, this does not decrease bloodsail rep, and if you are in a party with a guy who is killing booty bay goblins and don't aid him in any way, you will get the bloodsail +rep but not the goblin -rep, note though that the hat quest requires you to be hated with booty bay

As someone who farmed out the rep I would like to correct the OP in rep gains. Each guard killed will rep 75 rep with Bloodsail and cost 250 rep with Booty Bay as well as -150 rep with all other goblin cities.

It is important to note that by the time you are nuetral with Bloodsail you will be hated with all "Goblin" Towns. (Everlook, Gadzgetstan, Ratchet)

Once friendly with the Bloodsail Buccaneers, two quests are avalible - Avast Ye, Admiral!, Dressing the Part. Each quest gives you part of the Bloodsail suit. The Captians Hat from the quest "Avast Ye, Admiral!" and the suit from "Dressing the Part"(Dressing the Part is avalible at neutral).

If your neutral, goto his ship, located at 30,90(roughly) talk with him and he will give you "Dressing the Part" complete this and you will have your new Bloodsail suit.

If friendly, talk with him and he will give you the above quest and "Avast Ye, Admiral!". This quest involves venturing into Booty Bay and killing both Baron Revilgaz and Fleet Master Seahorn. Once completed, hand in and you will recieve your nice, new Bloodsail Captians Hat!

After killing goblins in Booty Bay, It would appear they nerfed the rep gain, I'm getting 25 Buccaneer rep, and losing 125 Booty Bay rep per Booty Bay Brusier, Every quest/vendor seems to give 1 Buccaneer rep, and loses 25 Booty Bay.

You need to kill 240 Booty Bay Brusiers to get to Friendly from Hostile.

The Booty Bay Bruisers are level 67.

It's a rough grind. You'll need to set your Booty Bay faction to "At War" on the reputation tab, and kill a lot of Booty Bay Bruisers. They hit hard and take a while to go down, but as a 67 rogue, I can kill them if I fight them one at a time. They're tough, but when I keep them somewhat stunlocked I can rip them up from behind. If you're underleveled (and possibly even if you're 70) I reccomend trying to find a friendly mage to whip you up a lot of food before you start grinding them, my food bill's gotten to be very expensive.

They only have about 2-3s if you pickpocket them, they don't drop anything, and they don't yield experience. However, if you're underleveled, you can actually rest while killing them, there are three bruisers you can fight one at a time in the inn if you're careful with them, and one outside by the orc weapon vendor you can kite to the inn without too much trouble. Another nice place to fight would be the Old Port Authority (big building with vendors in the middle of the town). You can pull bruisers into there pretty easily and usually without adds.

Keep in mind that even if you complete this, you'll need to grind the Bloodsails again just to be able to fly in goblin towns. I haven't confirmed it (if someone knows for sure please respond) but I believe that means Area 52 as well. It's a lot of work for individuality and a cool looking hat. Good luck!

KIlled about 800 bruisers, Me (mage) priest and hunter, aoe farmed guards for about 8 hours. got my hat, doubt i will ever take it off. Parrot doesnt attack, but has skulls on his wings :) Server first i beleive, Kel Thuzad.

The pople in Faldirs Cove is Blackwater raiders, and if you do missions for em, bloodsail buccaneers will get even more pissed at you. If you check war with bb, and kill em you get 5 rep for bsb and lose 25 for bb

Just avoid all Booty Bay quests and it's a lot easier. I started killing the BB members in Faldir's Cove at 39. It's slow going, but you get loot and XP unlike the bruisers later on. I got the "friendly" rep at level 44 (rested most of the time). Sure, you have to avoid the entire cartel, but I did it with an alt anyway :P This seems like a more practical way to do it, if you're doing it alone that is. If you have a group that all want the hat too, might as well wait for bruisers and do it much faster. I'll repost when I get the quest and my hat :)

Kill the pirates south of Ratchet and Steamwheedle and you can up your rep with Bloodsail and not hurt Booty rep.

Just to clear up any confusion from the number of incorrect posts here, I thought I'd talk to you kids today about The Bloodsails and Booty Bay.

1- Yes, you must kill Booty Bay goblins and only Booty Bay goblins to gain Bloodsail faction. (+25 Bloodsail rep, - 250 Booty Bay rep a kill)
2- The most effective way to do it is with an alt that has avoided all Booty Bay quests, otherwise you'll at least double your grinding time, as the Bloodsails will hate you a lot.
3- Upon reaching "Friendly" with the Bloodsails, you can get the quest from one of the Bloodsail boats.
4- If you're going solo, the best way to kill the non-elite Baron and his right hand man (depending on class, of course) is by grouping with a tank friend with positive Booty Bay rep grab aggro and help you take them down. The trick is to die as close as possible to where they're positioned, and rez as your friend takes aggro. They run in fear, so be ready. Your friend will lose a negligable amount of rep, so its not bad.

Other random facts concerning the whole matter:
- The parrot does not fight, it is only a luxury pet.
- You cannot get passed honored with the Bloodsails, but continuing to grind for rep beyond friendly is silly, and will only further hurt your rep with the other 3 goblin cities. There is nothing else available from the Bloodsails besides this one quest.
- Yes, you can kill the Blackwater Raiders in Faldir's Cove behind Stromgarde for 5 times less rep a kill starting around 39. While you get XP and a few random drops, this is very impractical, especially if you want to get your .5 tier armor set later on, or do other fun quests that take you through Goblin cities before you begin ruining your rep with them.
- Getting rep back is a long process, no matter how you do it. 1 point a kill by killing Bloodsails, Venture Co., or other random factions that Booty Bay doesn't like. There are two repeatable quests in Feralas, by the boat that takes you to Feathermoon, that give you 75 rep each with the entire cartel. This is the most effective way to grind it back...if you have that kind of patience.
- Be prepared for lower members of the opposing faction (horde/alliance) doing quests in Booty Bay to try and kill you, thinking it's an easy, free HK.
- Enjoy the damn hat and create a macro to respond to tells when people ask where you got it. Linking it in the trade channel is always an amusing sight.

Though this reputation is only needed for honored for the insane title, I read some information that it doesn’t count for the exalted reps achievement, but that is not true. I got exalted this morning and it did count, so just letting other people know if you need the 100 like me. Every faction counts!
