this is actually very possible even though I haven't played beta (i know naxx is not yet implemented) but here's what the achievement says. "Kill KZ with 8 people"
After a few guild runs of this, clear up to KZ then get your 8 most geared people and slice him down

Looking closely at the achievement you can see that Four Horsemen are not part of the criteria for this achievement. You could bring in 2 extra people to defeat the Horsemen and then keep going with 8 to complete this achievement.

Which is kind of sad... You can easily do The Four Horsemen with less than 9. I hope they insert it in for completeness.

Whilst it may appear difficult at first, this achievement is actually fairly simple.

The important thing to note is that most of the Naxx bosses do not have hard enrage timers. The only one that does *and* would actually pose somewhat of a threat of actually reaching it is Thaddius. Patchwerk's enrage shouldn't be an issue, nor should Sapphiron's.

Given that the bosses don't have hard enrages, I'd recommend dropping 2 dps and taking 3 healers, for a 2 tank, 3 dps and 3 healer setup. The run will take longer than with only 2 healers, but you've got to place priority on survivability (given that Thad would be the only fight where high dps is important).

Aside from that, you just do the bosses as normal and be prepared for the fact that it will take longer due to the loss of dps. It's basically a normal Naxx clear, just a little longer. ^_^

The achievement requires that you have the people you bring be fully geared. Consumables can also help but aren't necessary.

2 Tanks - definetly required obviously. Fully epicced recommended to make the healers' job easier

2 Healers - I would recommend one single target specialized healer (such as a Pally), and one AoE specialized healer. Once again, good gear is highly recommended.

4 DPS - A good mix of range + melee, these DPS MUST be fully geared, the longer it takes to kill bosses, the harder it will be on your healers.

With that being said, overall the achievement isn't TOO difficult if you bring your best, but it is time consuming. I'd also recommend trying your best to bring a mix of classes, specifically the buff ones, such as a pally (blessings), shaman (totems), priest (fort + shadow prot), Druid (MOTW, battle rez), and Mage (AI). Of course, it's not required, but it will help make things easier if you are fully buffed. At the very least, I would recommend a Pally for their OP blessings and a Shaman for the bloodlust.

I'll only post the trouble bosses:

Patchwerk - Assuming you brought your best DPS, the enrage timer shouldn't be too difficult, but it's still something to watch out for.

Gluth - Hopefully you made sure to bring a kiter. A hunter/mage can work, but also a DK with frost presence on.

Thaddius - The enrage timer is much more relaxed in 10 man then 25 man so you shouldn't have a problem. Just need to make sure EVERYONE gets the jump and that no charges cross, simple as that, even if one dies it will lower your DPS. Completing this boss 8 man will also grant Subtraction

Heigan - Not really a "trouble" boss since he has no enrage timer, but just make sure your healers know how to dance, losing 1 may make things more interesting :D

Loatheb - Again, not really trouble boss, but make sure your healers get the spores too

Four Horsemen - It seems Blizzard didn't include this in the achivement, or it's required but just not listed. Either way, we did it with 8 man. On ranged side, had warlock tanking and shaman healer tanking the other while solo healing the side. On the Melee side, we put all DPS + DK Tank (me) + Druid healer on Thane along with Druid tank on Baron. Fight starts, Druid tank pops dodge trinket + whatever else to take a few hits without heals. When the melee switch comes, druid healer tops him off during the crossing. By this time the druid tank is out of things to pop, so right after a mark is applied, the druid healer went and HOTd him up and ran back to me. Next switch, DPS is back on Thane, burn him down, then get on Baron. If you make it that far you should have it, assuming your healer on caster side is doing OK.

Sapphiron - Probably one of the more difficult fights, it is IMPERATIVE that you get frost resist aura, and that you stay out of Blizzard. Even one death can really slow down the fight, and if it happens to be a healer it's probably GG. This fight is all about avoiding the Blizzard to make it easier on your healers, it's extremly mana intensive and with so few DPS the fight will take a while. The boss has a hugeeeee hitbox, bigger than Supremus from BC, Melee should abuse it to avoid damage.

Kel'thuzad - Nothing to note really, simple fight and it will be easier to spread out with fewer people, just don't die to voids. Off-tank during adds phase will be taking a decent amount of damage since it will take longer to get Kel down, but if he's geared it shouldn't be a problem.

And that's that! As I said, no real special tactics required, just good gear, a dedicated team willing to stick it out to the end, and some good communication. Good luck!

If you have good players with good gear, you don't need to have an ideal group at all. We did this last night pretty handily.

Group comp
Tanks: Prot War (Me), Frost DK
Heals: Holy Pally, Resto Druid
DPS: Fury War, Fury War, demo/destro lock, and an undergeared Unholy DK

All of are Naxx veterans and had full Naxx level epics, exept for the Unholy DK, who was doing his first full run (he did the first half the week before). We wiped about 6 times, mostly due to a stupid mistake here or there and due to the Heigan fix forcing us to dance in Phase 1.

Gluth was probably the hardest for us since we had an inexperienced, undergeared DK kiting, plus no one to dispel enrage. The second attempt we had the Holy Pally healing him exclusively, plus the OT went back and used Hunger Cold on the adds whenever I taunted Gluth back off of him. This worked very well actually.

For four horseman we just brought in a disc priest guildie to help and it was cake with 9. 8 would be easy with an offspec healer on the OT or 2 ranged dpsers in the back. We actually had little trouble with Sapphiron; we got pretty lucky with Blizzards. KT was a bit rough, healers went just about OOM at 10% and still managed to keep everyone alive.

Just wanted to post all of this to show that this achievement is very doable, even with a non-ideal group. Skill and gear will win you this achievement with ease. Good luck to you if you go for this achievement

As stated above the hardest part is indeed Saphiron.
Lots of healing required there and smart people that don't stay in blizzard are a good addition too. Also make sure you bring someone that can decurse the lifedrain as its quite annoying(we didn't have anyone except the druid MT but he was...uhhhh...busy getting his face ripped of by the huge dragon).
We've done this last night using a druid MT, pala and priest healers and Blood DK(me) as OT.
The nice thing was we managed to 8 man the horses. A retri pala and me were on one of the mele bosses and with self DK heals and a holy light here and there it was quite easy.

Indeed the hardest part was not sapphiron because i died on that fight and we still beat it with 7. downgraded!

I can confirm that Four Horsemen is indeed not part of the achievement.

We did the whole instance on a single (very long) evening, but pulled in two additional healers for 4H only, so we could do the 4H achievement as well, which was reasonably easy with 2 tanks, 4 healers and 4 DPS :) Still all 8 of us got the achievement.

We did this achivement yesterday, took 3 hours and 15min.

We used the following setup:
1 Protection Warrior (Naxx25 geared)
1 Unholy DPS Deathknight (Naxx25 geared)
1 Survival Hunter (½ Naxx10 and ½ Naxx25 geared)
1 Affliction Warlock (½ Naxx10 and ½ BT/SWP geared) (This is my alt, since my Prot pala would be a waste)
1 Arcane Mage (Naxx25 geared)
1 Arms Warrior (Naxx25 geared)
1 Holy Paladin (Naxx25 geared)
1 Resto Druid (Naxx 25 geared)

So we ran with 1 tank, 5 dps and 2 healers.
4H and Gluth was the only encounters where we had one switch to an offspec, the DK went into his Tanking specc.
Every other encounter was done with only 1 tank, but sometime the Arms warrior or the DK put on their tanking gear.

Encounter Specfik Details:
Gothrik, The Harvester: We put the Prot Warrior, the Holy Pala, the Mage and the Lock on Undead side. Rest on Living side. No one on the living side was tank specced or wearing any tank gear. Only thing was that the DK jumped into Frost Presence when Gothrik himself joined the fight.

Grobbulus: We basically ignorred the slime adds, letting the Warrior kill them with Bladefury and the Hunter with Multishot.

Gluth: This one was a little tricky, since our Hunter was out eating, so we did this encounter with an additional Warlock instead of the hunter. We used the DK (in Tank gear and his Frost tanking spec) for kiting the adds and the Arms Warrior in dps gear tanked Gluth, when the MT got to many debuffs, and needed them to run out. (If you do it right the OT only needs to tank for 5-7sec at a time).

Noth: We had the DK tank the adds, in DPS gear and Frost Presence.

Kel'thuzad: As we have always done in Naxx10, the MT also tanks the adds.

Thaddious: Prot Warrior tanked one of the adds and the DK in DPS gear and Frost Presence tanked the other.

4 Horseman: Here the DK went into his Tank specc.
We put the Pala and the Warlock down in the far end of the room, tanking Lady Blaumeux and Sir Zeliek. The DK tanked Baron Rivendare, without any healing what so ever. He kept himself alive using Death Strike, Healthstone, Healing Potion and all those DK cooldowns. The rest of the Raid was on Thane Korth'azz. Thane was burned down just as the 3rd mark hit, then as the raid ran towards Baron Rivendare the DK unfortantly died, costing us our undying.... The raid then burned down Baron Rivendare, and then ran to the far end of the room to kill Lady Blaumeux and Sir Zeliek.

All in all, one of the most enjoyable runs I've ever had in Naxx. If only the DK hadn't died on 4H, we would also have gotten Undying on this run.

I personally believe Blizzard should add to this, and the 25 man achievement. Complete 25-man VoA, OS, Naxx, Uld and ToC with 20 or less people and get the Feat of Strength "The Soloist", granting the title "The Soloist" and the tabard "of The Soloist". It'd be tough.

As of patch 6.0.3 I can confirm that The Four Horsemen ARE NOT required to get this achievement. I killed gothik too fast and I was stuck with the gate not opening, so I skipped them and went to do everything else. Got the achievement as soon as I killed Kel'Thuzad.

So don't worry if you killed Gothik too fast and want this achievement. You'll still get it!
