Leystone deposits share spawn locations with Felslate deposits, so if you farm Felslate deposits you have to also gather Leystone ones to spawn Felslate. The same applies to seams.

Be forewarned, this achievement is a highly time-consuming grind if you're starting it fresh.

if you haven't already done so, head to Legion Dalaran, visit Kuhuine Tenderstride and learn Legion Herbalism. Remember where she is, you'll be returning to her a lot.

Head out into the world and herb. The process is the same for 5 of the 7 herbs: you collect the herb you're trying to rank up until an item drops which starts a quest. The quests are usually easy and relatively quick (at least on the scale of the rest of the achievement) - you return to Kuhuine and for rank 1 and 2, you'll get something to do (either more herbing or soemthing to kill) and you're just given rank 3. However, getting the item to start the quest to drop can be extremely annoying - rank 1 is seemingly 100% drop rate, but rank 2 and 3 are very low chance. Expect to collect a few thousand herbs on average to get both, and be aware that you can't get the item for the next rank to drop until you complete the quest for the current one. So as soon as you get a quest item, go and do the quest and get the rank, or move to a different kind of herb.

The two exceptions are:

Astral Glory, which follows a similar pattern, but with quests being handled by Alchemist Funen in Krokuun.
Felwort, which is only obtained from world quests - in which you kill (or a max level just avoid) a mob and herb a single node. You have to have at least 75 skill to see these world quests. You only need to do this once for rank 1, the follow-up quests are immediately given by Kuhuine.

If you have a Legion herbalist, check to see if you already have some progress - chances are you will. Still, I played through Legion and did a modest bit of herbing and still had a few to finish. Expect to spend tens of hours doing this.

disgusting achievement. Where you have to spend 30-100 hours just for actually nothing. Cos you dont need this useless herbs at this moment at all.

My main herbalist who played whole Legion have only half of this list. Also i had at least several quests but disbanded it cos in the end of Legion all this herbs was useless for me. Now after 7 years I have to do all this stuff again. I rly despise blizzard for achives like that. That dont give you any fun or gold in process or minimal satisfaction. Only boring and pain. It dosent give you anything else. To any1. No1 on this planet have a fun to farm useless herbs for 100hours. Achives like that must be actaully FoS.

I think no point to do it at this moment especially if your progress are low. Maybe blizzard will awaken its conscience and they at least raise percentage to get this qs

I wonder how much time this will take, I am maxed out herbalism from legion already but don't have any of the criteria, looted about 50 just now got nothing, so this looks like a good time

This comment is not scientific, and I can't prove the experience. I had read on some of these achievements, that one zone is "active" at a time for the Rank 2 and Rank 3 quest items to drop. One of the comments mentioned "spend 20 minutes in a zone, and if the item doesn't drop, move to another zone". After grinding individual zones mindlessly to 1000s of herbs, I tried this method... and it worked? Again I cannot prove this, but I can relate the experience and you might find some luck or hopefully good results in it.

For instance, I was at Rank 1 Astral Glory and went to Argus and in a few minutes I had Astral Glory Rank 2. I turned in the quest quickly and kept herbing... Astral Glory Rank 3 within minutes. I also go Empyreum Seam Rank 2 as I was mining and herbing at the same time. All within minutes of each other. This is after sessions of hours of mindless loops looking for both. It seemed the zone was "active" for these drops.

I tried applying this to other zones. If I couldn't get Foxflower Rank 3 in 20 mins in High Mountain I moved to Azuna for Aethril Rank 3, or Suramar for Starflower Rank 3. I kept moving zones after a lap (or two). Each time I did this I was able to QUICKLY find an herb item in one of the other zones. One I was down to two rank 3's left, I would go 20 minutes in each zone, and then log out to attempt again later. Each time I found an item it was within MINUTES of farming in that zone, and if I didn't get it within 20 minutes... log out, try again later.

If this is true.. and it "seems to me" that it is, then the hours and hours of grinding makes sense. You were simply wasting time in a zone that wasn't active for the drop, and if you did get it after hours, you probably got it within minutes of the zone becoming active for the drop!

Unbelievable how utterly boring and pointless this achievments is. You can spend 3 hours in it,, like you can spend 30 days.
The drop chance of disgustingly low.

This is nothing but a time sink, aimed for achiev collector's only.

I hope whoever designed and approved of this at Blizz feels bad about themselves.

A whole weekend of farming herbs, zero rank 3 recipes. A whole weekend I could have spent playing with guildies, but spent instead farming herbs from 3 or 4 expansions back, to 0, ZERO progress.

Good job Blizzard. Good job.

Hooooooboy! This one was a doozy!

Thankfully I had half this achieve done automatically from my legion days so I can only imagine how bad it would be for someone with absolutely no progress on it at all. From my experience, be prepared to set aside at least several hours if not a couple days per herb to get to rank 3. From my own experience and from the comments I've read here, it seems the average is around 2-4k herbs to go from rank 1 to rank 3 per herb. Obviously there's outliers who get lucky. But I think on average, be prepared to grind at least a couple thousand herbs per herb type. So it would seem that the rank 3 drop rates are around 0.1 - 0.2%.

for Dreamleaf rank 3 don't be like me and try to farm herbs for hours. Read up comments on Choked by Nightmare#comments and go farm/herb mobs near Emerald Nightmare raid. Dropped for me within a dozen kills or so (after hours and hours of fruitless herb picking).

3785 foxflowers to get from rank 2, to rank 3.... and all the herbs i gathered during legion are not included...

if you like me I have Blacksmith and Herblesim so I can't access the quest from Alchemist Funen because I don't have Alchemy Profisson you need to do the intro quest until you get the world quest and prophet Velin move to annihilate pits after that ignore everything and start herbing until you get it took me 20 till I get rank 1 Astral Glory quest

So I started to do this achievement from zero. I did it back then but forgot on which character and couldnt figure out which one it was.

Go to each zone and collect herbs. Collect rank 1 and turn the quest in to be able to drop rank 2/3 from herbing. The Quest will drop but has a really low drop chance.

Very useful to me was Demonsteel Stirrups which prevents you from dismounting. I also used Leystone Hoofplates but dont think it worked with dragonriding.
